Wuzhen is located at the north end of Tongxiang City, Zhejiang Province, 13 kilometers away from the urban area of Tongxiang. Together with Zhouzhuang, Tongli, Luzhi, Xitang and Nanxun, Wuzhen is known as the six ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River, known as the "land of fish and rice, home of silk". Wuzhen is a national 5A scenic spot and one of the 20 golden week forecast scenic spots in China. It was once named Wudun and Qingdun, with a long history of more than 6000 years. In 1991, it was rated as a famous historical and cultural city in Zhejiang Province. In 1999, it started the project of ancient town protection and tourism development.
