A total of 61 batches of products were sampled in five provinces and cities, including Zhejiang, Guangdong, Shanghai, Jiangsu and Shandong, and 40 batches were qualified, with a qualification rate of only 65.6%, Nearly 40% of drinking fountains are unqualified. It is reported that a large number of unqualified products are heavy metals such as nickel and chromium, which exceed the standard. Nickel, chromium and their salts may activate or inhibit a series of enzymes, thereby endangering human health.
It is understood that Cixi, Zhejiang Province, as the main production and manufacturing base of drinking fountains in China, has 7 batches of stainless steel tanks of drinking fountains in Cixi, Zhejiang Province, which were found to have exceeded the standard of heavy metals in this sampling inspection. Subsequently, Zhejiang Provincial Bureau of Quality Supervision and Ningbo Cixi Quality Supervision Department carried out a special inspection on 11 batches of water dispensers {TodayHot} produced by Cixi. Among them, 4 batches of water dispensers produced by Cixi were urgently sealed up due to two or more unqualified indicators.
