1. α starch has obvious anti sand adhesion effect. Therefore, it can replace times of pulverized coal to prevent sand sticking defects and reduce surface roughness, thus improving the working environment.
2. α starch can improve the hot wet tensile strength of sand mold, and the surface of the sand mold will produce pores after being heated and burned, which can slow down the thermal expansion of quartz sand, thus improving the sand inclusion resistance of molding sand and preventing sand inclusion of castings.
3. α starch can reduce the friction resistance between molding sand and pattern, improve the toughness of molding sand, improve the mold lifting performance of molding sand, and significantly reduce the waste rate due to poor mold lifting.
4. The surface strength of the air dried sand mold is reduced and easy to wear due to water loss on the surface, it is easy to be washed out during casting, it is placed for a long time or the weather is dry. If the problem is more serious, the addition of α starch to the molding sand can improve the surface strength of the sand mold, and improve the air drying resistance and molten iron impact resistance. It can prevent sand washing and sand hole defects. The effect of using starch with higher α fineness is more obvious.
5. α starch can significantly reduce the sensitivity of sand mold to water, reduce the water content of molding sand and improve the compactness of sand mold, make the sand mold easier to mold, and greatly reduce the porosity defects caused by high water content of sand mold. The role of alpha starch in EPC coating;
Alpha starch has the characteristics of quick dissolution in cold water, high adhesion, good dispersibility and complete environmental protection. It is an excellent adhesive for pelletizing casting and sand mixing casting, which can improve the wet performance and dry strength of the casting model, improve the surface finish of the casting model, and is an indispensable bonding agent in the casting industry.
In water-based EPC coating:
1. Good suspension without layering. The coating shall be well hung without revealing white, and the dripping time shall be short. It is easy to apply paint on hot glue. (Alpha starch is immediately soluble in cold water)
2. It can be dried in the sun without cracking, hollowing or peeling. (High alpha starch strength)
3. It is suitable for all kinds of refractory aggregates, especially for quartz powder aggregates. It has excellent sintering property, which makes the coating shelly. In summer, it will not ferment after being put in water for about ten days, and the viscosity will not decline.
4. The ratio of coating adhesive and aggregate powder is 1:10, and then water is added for mixing. In addition to aggregate powder and water, there is no need to add any other materials when preparing coatings. (Easy to use)
5. The required thickness (about 1mm) can be achieved by dipping twice.
6. The adhesive is free from insects and lumps after long-term storage, and its shelf life is more than two years.
Function of Alpha Starch in Molding Sand Casting
1. Alpha starch can be used as the adhesive of molding sand for cast iron and steel casting. It is easy to dissolve in cold water and has strong adhesive force. It can improve the hot wet tensile strength of molding sand, slow down the expansion of quartz sand by heat, thus improving the sand inclusion resistance of sand mold and preventing sand inclusion and scab defects of castings.
2. Alpha starch can improve the toughness of molding sand, reduce molding deformation caused by poor mold, reduce the rejection rate of castings, and reduce economic losses.
3. Alpha starch can improve the surface strength of molding sand, improve the air drying resistance and molten iron corrosion resistance, and prevent sand washing and sand hole defects.
Al starch can reduce the high temperature strength of molding sand and improve its solubility. Alpha starch is easy to use with a small amount of addition, generally 0.5-1%.
