The Tourism Bureau led the Macao Dragon Dance Team to Portugal to participate in 2024“ Lisbon Section ”(Festas de Lisboa). This is the first time for Macao SAR Tourism Bureau to participate after the epidemic“ Lisbon Section ”To show the charm of Macao's "tourism+culture" in the Portuguese capital, and to expand the tourist market of Portugal and Europe.

The "Lisbon Festival", which lasts for more than a month, is a grand popular celebration and an important tourism event in the local area, attracting thousands of people to participate in the celebration every year. The "Popular Street Parade" with a history of more than 90 years is the highlight of the "Lisbon Festival", which is held on the evening of June 12 every year.

It is reported that the participating Macao dragon dance team came from the Macao Luoliang Sports Federation. They danced a pair of golden dragons in the Portuguese capital, danced and exulted along the Riis' local landmark - Freedom Avenue, and exchanged greetings with Portuguese residents and local tourists who enjoyed the parade, to highlight Macao's traditional cultural charm and diversified tourism image, and enhance the tourism and cultural exchanges between Macao and Portugal.

"Lisbon Festival" is sponsored by the equipment and cultural animation management company under the jurisdiction of Lisbon City Hall, Portugal. The Macao Tourism Administration and the company launched an exchange and cooperation plan in 2012, including arranging the performance teams of the two places to participate in the "Lisbon Festival" parade and the Macao Lunar New Year float show.
