Introduction to Hegang

Hegang City is located in the northeast of Heilongjiang Province, in the transition zone from the Little Khingan Mountains to the Sanjiang Plain. It faces Russia across Heilongjiang in the north, borders Jiamusi on the Songhua River in the southeast, and borders Yichun on the Little Khingan Mountains in the west. It covers an area of 15000 square kilometers, governs two border counties and six administrative regions, Luobei and Suibin, with a population of 1.1 million, including 700000 urban population. Hegang is a coal based mineral resource city and an important old industrial base in Northeast China. The coal reserves are more than 2 billion tons, the annual output of raw coal is more than 20 million tons, and the coal can be mined for more than 100 years. The main types of coal are main coking coal, 1/3 coking coal and industrial gas coal. The average calorific value is 5500 kcal/KG, the ash content is 25%, and the total sulfur is less than 0.2%.
