Spring is the season of high incidence of allergic diseases. Many children blink frequently, and many parents take it for granted that it is caused by allergy. In fact, although they all have frequent blinking symptoms, the reasons may be different. In this issue of One Minute Health Preservation Class, Zheng Xiaoyu, deputy chief ophthalmologist of Children's Hospital Affiliated to Zhejiang University School of Medicine, was invited to share relevant knowledge about children's dry eyes and blinking eyes for netizens.

Zheng Xiaoyu analyzed that there are many reasons for children's dry blinking. In general, there are seven main reasons, specifically:

One is conjunctivitis. Related to allergic constitution, children will feel itchy eyes and rub their eyes;

The second is blepharitis. As a result of bacterial infection or fatigue, contact with drugs or cosmetics and the like, there is redness and inflammation of the eyelid margin, which will cause children's eye foreign body feeling;

The third is inverted eyelashes. Oriental faces tend to form redundant skin and trichiasis on the lower eyelid, and eyelashes rub on the corneal surface, causing frequent blinking;

Fourth, foreign matters. If you accidentally get some small sand and fluff into your eyes, the children will also show a wink;

Fifth, corneal damage caused by keratitis, cold, trauma or eye inflammation is manifested as photophobia, sometimes tears, and sometimes blinks;

Sixth, visual fatigue. Most of the children in school age are tired from reading or video learning for a long time. They may blink their eyes to get a clearer vision;

Seven is tic. When children blink their eyes, they will shrug their nose, shoulders or make some strange sounds.

Finally, Zheng Xiaoyu stressed that there are many reasons for children's dry and blinking eyes. If it is not good for a long time, please ask the family to take the children to the hospital, and ask the doctor to help check one by one.
