Longmen Ancient Town

Longmen Ancient Town is only 50 kilometers away from Hangzhou. It is said to be the hometown of Sun Quan of the Three Kingdoms. The village is famous for its unique ancient buildings of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is a well preserved ancient town in the mountain area in the south of the Yangtze River. Behind the village is Longmen Mountain, 1067 meters above sea level, with overlapping peaks and myriad sceneries, which is the top of Fuyang mountains. Yan Ziling, a famous scholar of the Eastern Han Dynasty, once visited Longmen and observed the unusual mountain landscape. He said, "Here is a place with beautiful mountains and waters, better than the Longmen of Lvliang", hence the name of the ancient town.
