Qiandao Lake, located in Chun'an County, the western suburb of Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, is known as the "middle reaches of Qiandao blue water paintings" because of its green mountains, beautiful water, strange caves and strange rocks.
Qiandao Lake is one of the first batch of national key scenic spots announced by the State Council, the largest national forest park in China at present, and also a bright pearl on the golden tourism line of "Hangzhou Qiandao Lake Huangshan Mountain" in the south of the Yangtze River. It was rated as one of the first national AAAA tourist areas, one of the top ten national forest park pacesetters, the first of Zhejiang's top ten scenic spots, and one of the three hot spots for Taiwanese tourists to travel to the mainland.
Qiandao Lake, with a total area of 982 square kilometers, is a green world. The surrounding mountains are verdant, and the animal and plant resources are rich. The forest coverage rate is 93%, and the visual greening rate is nearly 100%. The lake area covers 573 square kilometers, with an average depth of 34 meters and visibility of 7-9 meters. It is a national first-class water body. Mu Qing, the former president of Xinhua News Agency, praised it as "the best beautiful water in the world". The whole lake area has 1078 islands of various shapes and sizes, ranking first in China. The landscape of the scenic spot is beautiful, and the islands are scattered all over the place; The surrounding peninsulas are crisscross, and the peaks form peaks. The water surface is divided into various shapes, just like a maze.
Chun'an County, where Qiandao Lake is located, has a unique and ancient folk customs. The slate tile roofed houses, Shanyue hemp embroidery, water windmills, water mills, bamboo horse dancing, dragon lantern dancing, Muju, pig head racing, etc., full of local flavor, are full of rich Shanyue customs everywhere.
Since 1982, Qiandao Lake has developed more than 20 scenic spots in four series, namely, natural scenery, cultural customs, ecological wildness and entertainment participation. In recent years, after large-scale reconstruction and construction, six scenic spots with high grade and rich connotation, namely, Xianshan, Screen, Meifeng, Longshan, Animal Series and Stone Forest, have gradually formed. Meifeng cableway, floating bridge on water, Tianchi stone, warm cabin and other colorful tourism projects make tourists linger.
