Introduction to Haixi

Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture is located in the north of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, named after the west of Qinghai Lake. With a total area of 309000 square kilometers, its main body is the world-famous Qaidam Basin. Delingha City, Golmud City, Dulan County, Wulan County, Tianjun County and Mangya, Lenghu and Dachaidan Administrative Committees are under the jurisdiction of the prefecture. The state people's government is in Delingha. The total population of the prefecture is 379000, including more than 30 ethnic groups such as Han, Mongolian, Tibetan, Hui, Tu and Salar. The whole prefecture is divided into east and west economic zones. The eastern economic zone led by Delingha City, including Wulan County, Dulan County and Tianjun County, focuses on the development of saline alkali chemical industry, building materials industry, salt making industry, coal chemical industry and non-ferrous metal processing.
