The symposium on "Making a Good Start and Boosting the High Quality Development of Guangxi Tourism" was recently held in Nanning. Experts and scholars from cultural and tourism research institutions and professional colleges and universities held discussions around the development goals and priorities of Guangxi's cultural tourism during the "14th Five Year Plan", combined with topics such as the development of Guangxi's health tourism industry and building a world-class tourist destination. Gan Lin, secretary of the Party Leadership Group and director of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, said that during the "14th Five Year Plan" period, Guangxi will promote high-quality development of cultural tourism, integrate cultural tourism resources across the region, and build a modern cultural tourism industry system and high-quality service system. Actively promote the construction of "three places, two belts and one center", give full play to the cultural tourism characteristics of "old, young, border, mountain, sea and longevity", build a number of national and world-class tourist attractions and resorts with cultural heritage, and build a national tourism demonstration area and an international health resort destination.
Experts suggest that Guangxi should actively respond to the changes in tourism factor market, digitalization, content, experience mode, brand formation, crowd segmentation and other aspects under the new situation, give full play to its resource advantages, adhere to the integration of culture and tourism, industry integration, find a breakthrough in development, combine long-term and short-term development goals, and focus on cultivating and strengthening low altitude tourism, marine tourism, cross-border tourism, rural tourism We will strengthen the development of ethnic cultural tourism, build a fast forward transportation system, a scenic trail system, a slow travel system, and a cross-border and trans provincial tourism corridor system. We will take high-quality cultural and tourism integration, high-quality urban and rural integration, high-tech empowerment, and high-quality life as the starting points to solidly promote the high-quality development of culture and tourism.
During the "13th Five Year Plan" period, the total tourism consumption of Guangxi exceeded one trillion yuan, increasing from 325.4 billion yuan in 2015 to 1024.1 billion yuan in 2019, ranking ninth in the country, with an increase of 215%; The total number of tourists received increased from 341 million in 2015 to 876 million in 2019, an increase of 157%. The pillar effect is more prominent. In 2019, the comprehensive added value of Guangxi's tourism industry accounted for 18.6% of GDP, 36.6% of the service industry, and the comprehensive contribution rate of tourism tax to financial revenue reached 17.5%.
