Introduction to Guangxi

Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is called Gui for short. It is located in the southern Xinjiang of the motherland and adjacent to Vietnam. In the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, it was located in Baiyue (Guangdong). In the Qin Dynasty, it was located in Guilin Prefecture, part of which belonged to Xiangjun, in the Tang Dynasty, it belonged to Lingnan Road, in the Song Dynasty, it belonged to Guangnan West Road, in the Yuan Dynasty, it belonged to Huguang Province, and in the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Guangxi Province. Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region was established in 1958. It now governs 7 regions, 8 prefecture level cities, 10 county-level cities, 59 counties and 12 autonomous counties. More than 70 cities and counties are open to the outside world. The whole area is more than 230000 square kilometers. The population is 45.43 million. There are Zhuang, Han, Yao, Miao, Dong, Mulao, Maonan, Yi, Gelao and other nationalities. Nanning, the capital. Geography Guangxi's terrain is slightly basin shaped, with hills widely distributed and river valleys crisscrossed. Dayao Mountain and Daming Mountain form an arc mountain range curving southward. The limestone distribution area, which covers about half of the whole area, has been eroded into various peak forests, caves, and green mountains and green waters due to high temperature and rainy weather
