There used to be a nice syntax reference in the README but it looks like that was removed in 962fe14 . Was that migrated somewhere else that I can refer to?

Agreed.

If you hadn't linked to that commit so I could figure out the finer details of what I needed to do to translate some templates that didn't need to be Sailfish templates, I'd have had to give up on markup.rs.
