When BLAST announced its entry into the legendary game DOTA, the whole DOTA world echoed with excited voices. BLAST has a long-standing love for DOTA, and has a keen insight into its evolving ecosystem. BLAST sees the opportunity to integrate its landmark innovation and top sports into the DOTA community.

As BLAST prepares to enter DOTA, fans can expect its unique event. BLAST draws years of experience from different games, aiming to redefine the viewing experience in the game while maintaining its iconic production quality.

BLAST plans to launch a comprehensive DOTA Tour in the near future, and emphasizes the commitment to balance to ensure that each game can provide fascinating narrative and maximum entertainment.

We had a talk with Andrew Haworth, Vice President of BLAST Ecosystem, to learn more about fans' expectations of BLAST's DOTA adventure.

Q: Why did BLAST march into DOTA2?

A: This is a game that we have loved for many years as fans and players. In the past few years, we, as interested competitors, have been paying close attention to this game. With the development of our business, you will see BLAST expand to more game projects, and DOTA has been on our wish list. With the recent changes in the DOTA ecosystem, we believe that this is a great opportunity for BLAST to join and provide the community with the next stage of DOTA events.

Q: What are the differences between BLAST and other events?

A: We hope to apply many of the lessons learned from operating other games. We will study how to improve the game watching experience. BLAST prides itself on the unparalleled production quality and the "fans first" moment that changes the rules of the game. At the same time, it brings together the best teams and the biggest superstars to fight for honor. Our goal is to combine all these and apply them to DOTA2.

   Q: Will BLAST undertake TI?

A: One step at a time. After several years of deep cultivation in the CS field, we felt that we should apply to Major. We are very happy to establish the BLAST DOTA proposition and see how the audience and the team react to it. We will focus on this first before we start looking for other opportunities. Of course, it would be our great honor to participate in TI one day.

Q: How many games does BLAST expect to hold in total?

A: We are finalizing the final part of the BLAST DOTA Tour and look forward to releasing all the details as soon as possible. It's nice to see so many competitors excited and interested in DOTA in 2025. Although this may lead to a chaotic schedule, it also reflects the strength and opportunities of the professional arena. We are focusing on creating an appropriate balance between events, so that we can create the best entertainment event with the most fascinating story, and let all fans participate in it as far as possible, rather than purely for the purpose of hosting the event.

Q: What is the difference between BLAST's DOTA event and other events?

A: BLAST is not afraid to change the routine. If we think we can improve the program by challenging the status quo, we will do so on the premise of respecting the game, ensuring the integrity of the competition and listening to community feedback.

Q: How many DOTA2 events will BLAST hold?

A: Our first event will be held in the offline studio environment in November 2024. We plan to hold 4 other events in 2025. We can't wait to share more information with our fans in the summer, when we will release more information about the competition system, bonus pool and so on.
