"Xiongjiang has a high terrain, and there are many restrictions on industrial development, so aquaculture was the best choice for development at that time." Liu Shixiong, a large aquaculture farmer, recalled that since the 1990s, many brave and hardworking Xiongjiang people have "gone down to the river" to breed, and the continuous net cage has become a scene in the river. However, the rapid development of aquaculture has brought opportunities, but also brought many hidden worries. "Farmers breed fish in a high density and put in a large amount of bait. In addition to fish excreta and dead fish, water hyacinth grows on the river, which is not conducive to the ecological environment protection of the reservoir area for a long time." Huang Mingyuan, member of the Party Committee of Xiongjiang Town, introduced that as an important part of the Minjiang River basin, the water quality of the Xiongjiang River basin directly affects the water quality of the Minjiang River basin. Last year, the beautiful scenery of Olive Lake became popular on the Internet, and the tourists who came to visit it, as well as the booming rural construction and entrepreneurship in Fujian and Taiwan, provided Xiongjiang Town with new development ideas. "It is extremely urgent to improve the water ecological environment quality of the whole basin, develop tourism relying on Olive Lake, and eliminate breeding cages with a broken resolve." "On shore, the scenery is beautiful" In January this year, in accordance with the requirements of comprehensive management of the ecological environment of the Minjiang River basin, Minqing started the removal and return of breeding cages in the Minqing section of Shuikou Reservoir Area. In just three months, Xiongjiang Town completed the task ahead of schedule, and took the lead in realizing the overall clearance of breeding cages within the Minjiang River basin. As early as 2024, Xiongjiang has begun to try to reasonably plan cage culture to avoid disorderly competition. Xiongjiang Town has successively guided the delimitation of the scope and area of cage aquaculture, guided the orderly and standardized development of aquaculture, reduced the damage to the environment, and laid a good foundation for the rehabilitation work. After the start of the rehabilitation work, the town and village cadres went to the village for the first time to explain the policy to the farmers, provide assistance, and explain the significance of the rehabilitation work in detail. At the same time, a series of real gold and silver compensation policies were introduced: cage, auxiliary facilities, fishing boats, all of which were fully compensated according to the standard. According to the regulations, aquaculture products are not included in the compensation, but it still takes time to sell aquatic products. What should we do? Villages and towns, village cadres, fishery cooperatives, etc. are mobilized to contact the aquatic product factories and businesses they know to bring goods to farmers. At the end of April, attracted by the patient persuasion and reward and subsidy policies of township cadres, farmers have chosen to "go ashore to change jobs". What awaits them is a new Xiongjiang Town and tailored jobs. Waiters of the elderly canteen, forest rangers, home stay administrators...
