On July 10, 2017, at the 41st session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, the boundary of Wuyi Mountain, one of the only 35 "World Cultural and Natural Heritage" in the world, was extended to Qianshan, Jiangxi Province. This has expanded the species of rare animals and plants in Wuyishan area, which is conducive to the natural integrity of the world heritage site and the protection of historical and cultural relics.

Wuyi Mountain is located at the junction of Fujian and Jiangxi provinces, with a total area of 99.75 square kilometers at the southeast foot of the northern section of the mountain. It is a world cultural and natural heritage, a world biosphere reserve, a national nature reserve, a national water conservancy scenic spot, a national ecotourism demonstration area, a national key cultural relics protection unit, a national key scenic spot, a national AAAAA tourist attraction National Civilized Scenic Spot Demonstration Site.

On July 8, 2017, Gulangyu Island in Fujian Province, China was approved to be included in the World Cultural Heritage List at the World Heritage Conference held in Krakow, Poland. Gulangyu is a small island with an area of 1.8839 square kilometers in the southwest corner of Xiamen Island.

Gulangyu now has 1 national key cultural relics protection site, 20 groups, 30 buildings in total, 15 provincial cultural relics protection sites, 25 municipal cultural relics protection sites, and 391 historical buildings that have been identified, including 117 key cultural relics protection sites, There are 274 buildings with general protection features.

There are 931 historical buildings and gardens of different periods and styles, natural and organic historical road networks and rich natural landscapes on Kulangsu Island, which reflect the integration of modern human settlements and local traditional culture.
