Art is not disposable. A wall, a building, a street can make the history of a city flow. In this way, the city has endless vitality.

Wang Zhong, a professor of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, took Ma Yansong, a famous architect, to visit the public art works of Nanluogu Lane in Beijing to introduce his creative practice. He believes that people like a city not only because of its beautiful scenery, convenient transportation, and colorful life, but also because its past, present, and future affect people today and are closely related to their lives.

"Behind these unique signs, we can see the stories of some people, the elegance of a group of people, and the memory of a generation," Wang said.

Public art is a link, which is used to awaken the memory of those who are silent in bridges, houses, streets and alleys, or even have been buried under the foundation of forest buildings, and to express people's thoughts and expectations for the current life and the future of the city.
