People's Daily Online, Beijing, January 18 (Wei Yanhang) Spring breeze is visible, and auspicious rabbit remains. As the Spring Festival of the Year of the Rabbit is approaching, the National Museum of China meticulously selected more than 80 pieces (sets) of cultural relics in its collection and launched the "Guimao Jin'an - 2023 Spring Festival Exhibition" on January 18, to display China's long history, rich and colorful rabbit culture, zodiac culture and annualization from multiple perspectives, and present the good wishes of the Year of the Rabbit to the vast audience.

From the Shang Dynasty to the early 20th century, the cultural relics on display in this exhibition cover jade, porcelain, bronze, stone, bone, horn and tooth, calligraphy, painting and other material and cultural relics. Among them, from the Tang Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, many jade rabbit ornaments ran or bowed, sat or stood, and looked charmingly naive; The light blue glazed brown spot porcelain rabbit of the Tang Dynasty and the blue jade rabbit of the Yuan Dynasty are vivid; The white jade double rabbit ear cup of the Ming Dynasty is delicately carved and refined, showing the ingenuity of craftsmen of different times, which is an example of traditional craft resonating with the pulse of the times at the same frequency.

It is worth mentioning that the rabbit head, one of the bronze statues of the twelve Chinese zodiac signs in Haiyan Hall, the Western Pavilion of the Old Summer Palace, also appeared in this exhibition. According to reports, the bronze figures of the zodiac represent the twelve hours of the day and night respectively, and at each hour, the bronze figures of the zodiac representing this hour automatically spit out a fountain from their mouths. At noon, the twelve bronze statues spouted spring water at the same time. The bronze statue of the twelve Chinese zodiac signs telling the time with water is the essence of Haiyan Hall and is world-famous.

In order to highlight the festival atmosphere and further highlight the flavor of the New Year, the traditional auspicious patterns extracted from the National Museum, as well as elements such as Fulu flower windows, lanterns, firecrackers, etc., are extensively used in the exhibition design to highlight the flavor of the New Year. Five groups of multimedia displays echo the exhibition space and graphic design. Snowflakes fall, fireworks bloom, and the audience strolls through them, which also constitutes a "full of flavor" festival experience.
