Optimal Design of Magnetic Integrated LLC Resonant Converter Based on GaN Devices

YANG Yi;DAI Yuxing;PENG Zishun;ZHU Yong;
To address the problems of low efficiency and power density in the auxiliary power conversion of electric vehicles, this paper proposes a design scheme for an LLC resonant converter based on an improved magnetic integrated transformer. The magnetic core structure is modified to integrate the resonant inductor and transformer on an EEE magnetic core, reducing the weight and volume of the magnetic components. The winding arrangement and air gap structure are optimized to cut down magnetic core saturation and losses.Together with GaN power devices, a 150W experimental prototype is finally built. The experimental results show that the introduction of GaN devices and magnetic integration technology significantly improves the power density and efficiency of the converter,verifying the feasibility of the proposed design scheme.
