Shenyang, people.com.cn, October 9 (Reporter Li Fang) In order to firmly promote the construction of an educational power, the forum of 2023 university presidents of people.com.cn will be held in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, on October 12, with the theme of "giving play to the leading role of higher education and tamping the talent base for building a strong country".

The forum was guided by the People's Daily, the CPC Liaoning Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Liaoning Province, hosted by the CPC Shenyang Municipal Committee, the Shenyang Municipal People's Government, the Talent Work Leading Group of the CPC Liaoning Provincial Committee and People's Network, and provided academic support by the China Association of Higher Education. Leaders and guests from more than 100 colleges and universities across the country will focus on hot issues in the field of higher education, focus on "implementing the fundamental task of moral cultivation and cultivating new people of the times to take the responsibility of national rejuvenation", "giving play to the role of the main force of basic research in colleges and universities to achieve self-reliance in high-level science and technology", "enhancing the ability to cultivate top-notch innovative talents and comprehensively improving the quality of independent talent cultivation" "Promoting the deep integration of industry, university and research to improve the high-quality development ability of education services" and other topics were discussed in depth to build consensus.

On the forum, the Analysis Report on the Reform and Innovation of Ideological and Political Courses in Colleges and Universities in 2023 will also be released, and the list of excellent campus news works of colleges and universities in 2023 will be published on People's Daily. As a national large-scale annual education forum, the People's Daily University Presidents Forum has been successfully held for nine times, with more than 500 university secretaries and presidents participating in the forum.

During this forum, Liaoning Province and Shenyang will also hold 2023 Northeast Asia (Shenyang) Talent Exchange Conference at the same time. The conference will hold 13 theme forums and the largest domestic and overseas talent recruitment fair in Northeast China, covering more than 400000 college graduates online and offline. This activity will provide 150000 jobs for three provinces and one region in Northeast China (Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region).
