"Tower, the starry sky B-12KE applies for takeoff, please instruct..." On May 3, the sky was clear at Moganshan General Airport in Deqing. After receiving the command from the tower, flight instructor Mao Jiongfei led the reporter to taxi a two seat light fixed wing aircraft to take off and soar in the sky.

This is Mao Jiongfei's fifth flight that day. At the moment of the booming low altitude economy, the flight license test has gradually entered the public's vision. During the "May Day" holiday, the airport has an average of 5 students making an appointment to learn to fly every day, and more than 10 experienced people come to experience learning to fly. Mao Jiongfei's work is fully scheduled.

In the eyes of outsiders, the work of flight instructors is somewhat mysterious. "In fact, we are like car coaches, but the training scene has shifted from the ground to the sky." Mao Jiongfei, 41, retired from the army, joined Zhejiang Xingkong Xiangye General Aviation Service Co., Ltd. and became a flight instructor.

The reporter, together with two participants, experienced the fun of flying a plane. Like the car driver's license test, learning a flight license can also be divided into theoretical courses and practical courses. Among them, theoretical courses include aviation laws and regulations, aircraft structure, flight principles, engine principles, control principles, and special case handling.

"The most important thing in learning to fly is to ensure safety, especially the ground inspection is very strict." Mao Jiongfei explained while taking us to check various parts of the aircraft, from the engine, horizontal tail, vertical tail to pitot tube, anti friction pad, from the specific functions of these parts to how to check, all of them spoke in great detail. When he went to the rear of the fuselage to introduce the trim piece, Mao Jiongfei specially emphasized that it should not be broken by hand during inspection.

"We use our hands to control the joystick and our feet to pedal the rudder to control the flight attitude of the aircraft." When flying to a height of about 300 meters, Mao Jiongfei led the reporters into the practical operation course. Following his operation, the reporter manually operated the steering lever to press the lever to the left. Then he asked to pay attention to the horizon, and after forming a slope of 30 degrees, he returned to the pole slightly. "This is to stop the aircraft from increasing the slope to the left. The more the slope, the faster it will turn."

Operating the pull rod, stepping on the rudder, looking at the dashboard, looking at landmarks, controlling the balance of the fuselage... A series of operations need to be carried out at the same time. As a "rookie" who has no flight foundation, the reporter is at a loss. "Don't be nervous, I will take you to operate slowly, step by step." Mao Jiongfei demonstrated while leading the reporter to fly to a higher sky.

Unlike the experienced and new students who teach in detail, Mao Jiongfei is much more relaxed when teaching the old students to fly. Cao Junxian, a young man from Shanghai born in 1993, is a "fan" of low altitude flight. He has obtained a sports aircraft pilot's license before. Every once in a while, he will go to the base to consolidate training. "I basically let go of the old student and observed his operation on the side," said Mao Jiongfei.

In recent years, Deqing has been constantly cultivating and strengthening the general aviation industry, making every effort to build a general aviation intelligent manufacturing industrial cluster integrating R&D and manufacturing, general aviation operations, aviation tourism and education and training, and professional flight training institutions and clubs have also emerged as the times require. According to Mao Jiongfei, with the introduction of the policy that holding a car license can avoid physical examination and that teacher assessment can replace examinations and other sports flight license examinations, the threshold of learning to fly has been greatly reduced. At present, the company has more than 200 students, not only entrepreneurs, but also wage earners, and even high school students and college students. "In the near future, flying an airplane may become as important a skill as driving a car," said Mao Jiongfei.
