A Traveler's Hometown Dream

Xie Ruiying was born into a peasant family at the foot of Mogan Mountain in 1963. In those days, it was a common phenomenon that "children from poor families were early masters". Xie Ruiying is no exception. Farming almost runs through all the memories of her childhood and youth. "At that time, people lived a more orderly life. It was often people who asked you to work, and you had to go out to work." Xie Ruiying said that although the work was very boring, she did not have any complaints at that time. Getting rich through hard work was a firm belief that supported her vision of future life. Perhaps it was this experience that foreshadowed her future success in entrepreneurship.

Create Deqing landmark buildings

In November this year, the United Nations Geographic Information Conference was successfully held in Deqing, which was inseparable from the hard work of a group of people, including Xie Ruiying, General Manager of Zhejiang Yingrui Building Materials Decoration Co., Ltd.

In 2016, when he heard that Deqing International Convention Center needs to be paved with curtain walls, Xie Ruiying made a determination to contribute to this international event in her hometown.

After a series of processes, Xie Ruiying defeated a dozen competitors and successfully undertook the curtain wall project of Deqing International Convention Center in June 2017. "I didn't expect that this project would be the most stressful one for me since I started business," Xie Ruiying said.

The curtain wall project of the International Conference Center in the eastern hemisphere requires 5370 plates and 1200 glasses. Due to the complexity of the sphere, the specifications of each plate and glass are completely different, and all need to be customized. During that time, Xie Ruiying's factories started almost 24 hours a day, working overtime to rush out products. Xie Ruiying himself stayed in the factory for more than 30 days. I remember one time, Xie Ruiying went to the design institute in Hangzhou with 7~8 pieces of glass alone. On the way, she was stuck in a traffic jam in the countryside. In order to arrive on time, she walked for two hours with glass on her shoulder before she got a taxi.

When purchasing materials from abroad, the steel structure exceeded the specified error... During the construction of the curtain wall project of Deqing International Conference Center, Xie Ruiying encountered many difficulties, but she was persistent and overcame them one by one, and completed all the curtain wall work on schedule. "Although there are many difficulties, I feel very satisfied to make a contribution to my hometown," Xie Ruiying said.

Wandering on the beach alone

Time went back to 1984. At that time, the spring breeze of reform and opening up had spread all over the country, and the private economy throughout the country was booming. Xie Ruiying, who lives in the mountain col, can no longer stay. In order to make the whole family live a happy life, Xie Ruiying has made a life changing decision - to go into business. But it is not easy to change from a peasant girl to a self-employed household? After thinking for several times, Xie Ruiying looks at the bamboo forests all over the mountains - selling bamboo. Later, after several times of inquiry, Xie Ruiying became familiar with the sales process of bamboo. But a new problem has arisen - where is the customer? When she learned that Shanghai's urban construction was vigorous, Xie Ruiying set the market in Shanghai. "At that time, the scaffolding on the construction site was almost made of bamboo, and Shanghai had a very strong demand for bamboo," Xie Ruiying said.

In the same year, Xie Ruiying, who had made up his mind, bought a batch of goods in the bamboo market and broke into Shanghai, the frontier of reform and opening up, alone. When I first arrived in Shanghai, the scene of construction sites was everywhere, which made young Xie Ruiying have a slight illusion. "At that time, some areas of Shanghai were still sandy roads, and I felt that Shanghai was not as good as our Deqing." Xie Ruiying said with a smile. Fortunately, Xie Ruiying also has an uncle and aunt in Shanghai. With their help, Xie Ruiying, who has just arrived in Shanghai, is not at a loss.

Xie Ruiying's bamboo business started from the stall. "Thanks to my aunt's help, I got my own bamboo stall in a port." Xie Ruiying said that at the beginning, because he was shy, he didn't shout all over the street like other stall owners, but stayed at the stall and waited for customers to come. "At that time, after setting up the stall during the day, he would set up a shed beside the stall at night to rest." Recalling that time, Xie Ruiying showed a trace of emotion.

With the gradual accumulation, Xie Ruiying, even if not good at words, still relies on the spirit of hard work and the quality of being honest to others to make business more prosperous. According to word of mouth from customers, some construction companies began to find Xie Ruiying, hoping that she could directly transport bamboo to the construction site. During this period, since it was early in the morning when the bamboo was transported from Deqing to Shanghai, the construction site had not yet started, and the drivers of the same team had to rush back to Deqing overnight after unloading the goods. Xie Ruiying, who was alone, sometimes stayed in the guard room temporarily to keep an eye on the goods, and sometimes spent the night beside Malujah.

Xie Ruiying's bamboo business in Shanghai came to an end in 1990. That year, she returned to Deqing to have a second child. During this time, Xie Ruiying opened a farmhouse on Mogan Mountain, and also part-time engaged in the sales of bamboo and tea.

Transform from dealer to entrepreneur

Around 1997, Xie Ruiying was burdened with a debt of 1.86 million yuan due to special reasons. In addition, two young daughters needed to be supported. All kinds of reasons forced Xie Ruiying to start again. At this time, Mao Zhushan's tripod had been eliminated. Relying on her friends in Shanghai, she engaged in the sales of PP test tubes and established Deqing Yingrui Building Materials Decoration Co., Ltd.

Until 2002, Xie Ruiying's business trajectory turned again. That year, Xie Ruiying recruited a number of technical backbones, changed the company into Zhejiang Yingrui Building Materials Decoration Co., Ltd., and expanded its business scope to the production, installation and construction of plastic steel doors and windows. So far, Xie Ruiying has completed the transformation from a dealer to an entrepreneur. "Although I have always been in the material industry, it is still the first time for me to be a real enterprise." Xie Ruiying said that in order to find out the rules of the industry as soon as possible, she would consult everywhere whenever there was a problem. With this modest and studious spirit, the company's operation was gradually on the right track.

In 2008, in order to find new profit growth points, Xie Ruiying tried the design of building curtain wall, but when she tried curtain wall engineering for the first time, it was inevitable that there would be many problems, such as the expansion project of Shanghai Hongqiao Airport. "We spent two years on the bidding and defense process of this project," Xie Ruiying said. In this project, the engineering designer was unwilling to cooperate with Xie Ruiying, who was still in the initial stage. She spent five to six months negotiating with the engineering designer on a design issue She said. Even though the process was somewhat bumpy, Xie Ruiying completed the expansion project of Shanghai Hongqiao Airport on schedule and won the "Magnolia Award" for the project.

Later, Xie Ruiying's curtain wall business was out of control, and he successively undertook large-scale curtain wall projects such as Ruihe Yishan Building, Jingjiang Sports Center, Jingjiang New Town School, etc., all of which gained good reputation and gradually made a name in the curtain wall industry.

All the way hard, all the way forward, all the way harvest. Looking back on more than 30 years of entrepreneurship, Xie Ruiying told the reporter that he had experienced the ups and downs of the market. Keeping the spirit of persistence and being open-minded and eager to learn will certainly make you gain something. Now, through 20 years of hard work, the company founded by Xie Ruiying has obtained the first grade qualification for professional contracting of building curtain wall engineering and the first grade qualification for special design of building curtain wall engineering, and has become an international professional curtain wall engineering company.

At the same time, after leaving Deqing, Xie Ruiying also developed a feeling of wandering. Xie Ruiying said that, in recent years, with economic development, social stability, political integrity and people harmony, Deqing has made great progress in all aspects. As an outsider, I hope Deqing will make persistent efforts to reach a new level and create new brilliance.
