Justinas Lekavicius | jL, the first major MVP and Lithuanian rifle shooter in the new version of CS, recently received an exclusive interview from HLTV. In the interview, he talked about how he became a professional player, his experience from Apeks to Natus Vincere, NaVi's trip to Copenhagen as a major, and his outlook on the future of the team.
The following is an excerpt from the interview:
JL recalled his initial enthusiasm for CSGO and emphasized that the idea of "wanting to surpass the people around him" helped him:
"My brother is playing this game, and I want to surpass him. Later, I want to be more powerful than my classmates." It is this competitiveness that has promoted him to become a professional player.
After talking about Apeks' outstanding performance in the semi-finals of Major in Paris, jL elaborated the reasons why he chose to join NaVi:
"Joining NaVi is a dream that I never thought could become a reality, because my choice is to take the path of international professional players, and the former NaVi has always been a team based on the CIS region.
Since I received the invitation from NaVi, I have identified them. I have also received offers from many other teams, but I have been delaying my reply until NaVi said I was hired.
As soon as they said, I turned down other offers and went directly to NaVi. "
After talking about the cooperation with w0nderful and Aleksib, the topic turned to NaVi's Copenhagen Major champion and jL's outstanding MVP performance.
"Winning the Major MVP is my dream, but I never thought it was possible. I thought I could win the Major championship, but I never thought I would be more dazzling than my teammates."
At the end of the interview, jL talked about NaVi's future goals:
"As long as we don't stop making progress, I don't think Major will be our only championship trophy. I think we have only played half of our real potential, even less than half. I think the next step is to take Major's victory as a booster of our confidence, and then continue to move forward, hoping that we can maintain our state."
