When Chinese citizens go abroad to study, work, live, or apply for a visa to go abroad at home, they may need to provide documents such as birth medical certificate, marital status, no criminal record, power of attorney, declaration, etc. at the request of the country. Enterprises usually need to provide certificates of origin, invoices, packing lists, animal and plant export quarantine certificates and other documents for conducting business activities overseas. These instruments generally need consular authentication before they are sent to countries not party to the Convention for use.
