(The following is only a general introduction. Applicants who need to apply for a certificate should visit the website of the relevant embassies and consulates abroad or consult the consular window for details.)

　　　 （ 1） Before applying for consular authentication to Chinese embassies and consulates abroad, relevant documents should generally be notarized by the local notary office in the country where they are located;

（2） The applicant shall apply for consular certification of the host country to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the host country or the institution authorized to handle consular certification;

（3） The applicant shall apply for consular authentication to the Chinese embassy or consulate general (consulate) in the country according to the consular area.

（1） Legal and valid identity documents of the parties;

（2） If the agent applies for it, he/she shall submit the copies of the agent's valid ID card and the party's valid ID card;

（3） If the company documents are certified, the passport copy of the company's legal representative and the company documents that can prove the identity of the company's legal representative should also be submitted;

（4） Fill in the true, complete and accurate application form;

（5） Documents for applying for consular certification;

（6） Other materials deemed necessary by the consular certification authority.

From March 9, 2018, Chinese embassies and consulates abroad lowered the charging standard for consular certification of Chinese citizens. Except for some countries that implement equal charging, the civil consular certification was adjusted from 150 yuan (the same below) to 50 yuan per copy, and the commercial consular certification was adjusted from 300 yuan per copy to 100 yuan per copy. For expedited processing (pick up within 3 working days), an additional 170 yuan was charged per copy, Extra urgent (pick up on the second working day), additional 250 yuan per copy.

Note: The actual fees are charged in local currency. Please consult the Chinese embassy or consulate in the local area for specific charging standards.

It takes 4 working days for normal handling. If the applicant has reasonable reasons, the urgent mail can be handled with the consent of the embassy or consulate. The time required for supplementary materials, domestic application for verification, force majeure and other reasons shall not be included in the above period.

1、 The relevant documents of the applicant have been authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country where the applicant is located or by an institution authorized to handle consular authentication;

2、 The document is authentic and legal, and has no content that may damage China's national and social public interests;

3、 If the document applying for authentication is more than two pages long, it shall be bound in a way that is not easy to be removed or replaced, such as sealing with lacquer, sealing with a cross stitch seal or steel seal.

4、 According to the regulations of relevant domestic departments, the certificate of no spouse used for marriage registration in mainland China is valid within 6 months from the date of issuance. Therefore, if the above certificate is more than 6 months from the date of issuance, the party concerned shall handle it again.

5、 The notarial certificate of marital status, health and no criminal record for adoption in China that has been notarized for more than 6 months shall not be authenticated.

6、 The consular officers of embassies and consulates abroad will review the documents applied for certification. If problems are found, including incomplete local notarization or certification procedures, non-standard format, illegal content, alteration, dismantling and replacement of documents, the certification application will not be accepted.

7、 The consular officer may request the applicant to provide other materials related to the certification matters.

8、 If the contents of a document certified by the consul are changed or replaced, the consular certification shall be invalid.

9、 Documents authenticated by embassies and consulates abroad shall not be changed or replaced. The applicant shall bear the problems and legal liabilities arising from the applicant's self modification or replacement of documents.
