Recently, the overall security situation in Cameroon remains grim. Violence continues in the southwest and northwest regions, and attacks and kidnappings against foreign citizens are frequent. Terrorist organizations in Adamawa, northern and far northern regions have frequent activities, and hijacking and terrorist attacks have occurred from time to time.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese Embassy in Cameroon remind Chinese citizens not to travel to the southwest and northwest regions of Cameroon in the near future, and local personnel and institutions should evacuate or transfer to relatively safe areas as soon as possible. Go carefully to Adamawa, the north and the far north region. Local personnel and institutions have closely followed the development of the situation, maintained high vigilance, strengthened security precautions and emergency preparedness, and ensured personal and property safety. Personnel in other areas shall strengthen prevention and pay attention to safety. In case of emergency, please call the police in time and contact the Embassy in Cameroon.
In view of the above, if Chinese citizens insist on going to or staying in relevant areas, they may face higher security risks and affect the effectiveness of obtaining assistance.
