In accordance with the principle of authenticity and legality established in the Notarization Law of the People's Republic of China, embassies and consulates stationed abroad, as state organs exercising notarial functions, shall review and verify the authenticity of relevant materials. Since embassies and consulates abroad do not have the conditions for substantive examination of the above materials, the above notarization will not be carried out in principle since September 2017.
