People's Daily Online, Beijing, August 20 The CPC Central Committee held a symposium in the Great Hall of the People on the morning of the 20th to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the birth of Comrade Deng Xiaoping. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, President of the People's Republic of China and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, delivered an important speech stressing that the blueprint for socialist modernization that Comrade Deng Xiaoping worked for us is gradually becoming a beautiful reality, our great motherland is becoming prosperous and strong day by day, and the Chinese nation is moving towards great rejuvenation step by step. We believe that the Communist Party of China and the Chinese people, who won a great historic victory in the 20th century, will win even greater historic victory in the 21st century.
Li Keqiang, Zhang Dejiang, Yu Zhengsheng, Wang Qishan and Zhang Gaoli, members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, attended the symposium, and Liu Yunshan, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, presided over the symposium.
In his speech, Xi Jinping reviewed the great achievements of Comrade Deng Xiaoping in his life, summarized his outstanding contributions to China's revolution, construction and reform, and emphasized that his brilliant life and great contributions to the independence, prosperity and revitalization of the Chinese nation and the liberation, freedom and happiness of the Chinese people will always be written on the vast land of the motherland. Comrade Deng Xiaoping has always been among the people and among the hearts of the people.
Xi Jinping pointed out that like other revolutionaries of the older generation in our party, the reason why Comrade Deng Xiaoping was able to build a glorious history for the motherland and the people is that he saw the development trend of the world and China, deeply understood the deep aspirations of the Chinese people and the Chinese nation, and grasped the historical laws of China's development, Relying closely on the Party and the people, we have built an unprecedented historic cause.
Xi Jinping stressed that firm belief is the most distinctive political character of Comrade Deng Xiaoping in his life, and it is always the spiritual backbone of the Chinese Communists. The revolutionary ideal is higher than the sky. Without a large number of Chinese people with firm communist ideals, there would be no Communist Party of China, no new China, and no development and progress of our country today. To develop our country better, we cannot do without the power of ideals and beliefs. The first thing for us Communists to exercise their Party spirit is to firmly adhere to the lofty ideal of communism and the common ideal of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and forge ahead towards our goals with perseverance and no hindrance.
Xi Jinping pointed out that loving the people is the deepest emotional sustenance of Comrade Deng Xiaoping in his life, and is always the source of strength that Chinese Communists should adhere to. Loving the motherland and the people is the deepest and most powerful emotion, and it is broad love. We must always strive for the interests of the people. We must be loyal to the motherland and the people at all times and under all conditions. We must down-to-earth implement the purpose of the Party, give our life to the Party and the people, and devote ourselves to the cause of the Party and the people.
Xi Jinping stressed that seeking truth from facts is the most important ideological feature of Comrade Deng Xiaoping's life, and it is always the ideological method that the Chinese Communists should follow. Facts are the basis of truth, and hard work is the only way to achieve the cause. The history of China's revolution, construction and reform has repeatedly proved that only by formulating practical policies and measures and adopting practical working methods can the cause of the Party and the people get on the right track and achieve results satisfactory to the people. We should be good at using dialectical materialism and historical materialism to observe the world and deal with problems, grasp the real situation, grasp the objective laws, carry forward the pragmatic and efficient work style without empty talk, and earnestly implement the Party's basic theory, basic line, basic program, basic experience and basic requirements.
Xi Jinping pointed out that pioneering and innovation is the most distinctive leadership style of Comrade Deng Xiaoping in his life, and is always the historical responsibility of the Chinese Communists. The greater the cause, the more difficult and dangerous it is, and the more innovative it needs to be. Socialism with Chinese characteristics is an unprecedented great cause, and reform, opening up and socialist modernization still have a long way to go. On the way forward, we will carry out many great struggles with new historical characteristics. We should carefully observe new practices and new developments, respect the initiative of the local, grassroots and the masses, make decisive decisions, take pioneering and innovation as a normal state, constantly use the developing Marxism to guide new practices, and make new theoretical generalizations from practice, dare to break and stand, dare to break and try, and resolutely push forward reform and opening up.
Xi Jinping stressed that the most important ideological and political heritage left to us by Comrade Deng Xiaoping is the socialism with Chinese characteristics he led the Party and the people to create, and is the Deng Xiaoping Theory he created. The most distinctive feature of Comrade Deng Xiaoping's thought and practice is to proceed from reality, the general trend of the world, and the national conditions, and always adhere to the practical and realistic, mass line, and independence that our Party has always advocated. Xi Jinping pointed out that the Chinese nation has created a splendid civilization with a long history of more than 5000 years, and the Chinese people have created brilliant achievements in building socialism under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. We should continue to create on this basis. We should strive to reform our own shortcomings and shortcomings. We should study with an open mind what is useful and good in foreign countries. However, we should not copy all foreign countries, let alone accept the bad things of foreign countries; we should not belittle ourselves or forget our ancestors. Xi Jinping stressed that since Deng Xiaoping left us 17 years ago, the international situation has changed dramatically, and the domestic reform and development tasks are arduous.
