At the regular policy briefing held on the same day, Xin Guobin said that in the process of the development of the new energy vehicle industry, China has always adhered to the principles of openness, cooperation and win-win, and has established good joint ventures and cooperation relations with relevant parties in the world. Major international multinational vehicle enterprises have joint ventures in China. In 2022, China's automobile industry has completely abolished the restrictions on foreign investment.

He said that enterprises from all over the world are welcome to invest in China, support enterprises from all over the world and Chinese enterprises to carry out various forms of cooperation in the fields of solid-state batteries, automatic driving, etc., give full play to their respective advantages, jointly solve technical problems in industrial development, and accelerate the realization of technological breakthroughs and industrial applications. At the same time, China also supports Chinese enterprises to go abroad, invest and set up factories overseas, and bring advanced technology and products abroad.

Xin Guobin also said that it is necessary to give play to the role of the United Nations World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations and the International Organization for Standardization, accelerate the formulation of relevant standards for new energy vehicles and intelligent connected vehicles, strengthen low-carbon development cooperation with relevant countries and regions, and promote the formation of mutually recognized carbon emissions and carbon footprint accounting systems.

In recent years, China's new energy vehicle market has grown rapidly. According to official data, the annual sales of new energy vehicles increased from 1.367 million in 2020 to 6.887 million in 2022, a fourfold increase between two years. New energy vehicles have accounted for more than a quarter of the total number of new vehicles.
