On January 5, the pouring of the first span bridge deck of Baotong Bridge in Lot 5 of Pinglu Canal Cross line Bridge Project undertaken by China Railway Shanghai Engineering Bureau was completed, marking that the project entered a new stage of bridge deck system construction, achieving a "good start" in the new year, and laying a solid foundation for subsequent bridge deck system construction.

It is reported that the main construction contents of Pinglu Canal Line Crossing Bridge Lot 5 include the demolition of the old bridge across the Qinjiang River, the construction of the new west channel crossing bridge, the Qinjiang River crossing bridge, the temporary bridge and the connecting road works. Baotong Bridge has a total of 200 steel pipe piles, with a deck width of 12 meters and a total length of 264 meters. The first span deck slab was poured at the 16th span of Baotong Bridge across Qinjiang River, with a length of 12m and a thickness of 20cm. C50 concrete was used, with a volume of about 28.8m3. Before pouring, in order to ensure the smooth pouring of the first span bridge deck, the project has carefully organized and planned, strictly controlled the quality and safety, constantly improved the construction scheme, implemented the first piece acceptance system, and strictly followed the design drawings and construction scheme requirements from the mix proportion design, construction technology, material allocation and other aspects. In the process, the on-site management personnel strictly control each process, resolutely implement the three inspection system and the side standing system, strengthen the control of all links from the concrete to the site quality, vibration control, elevation control, surface finishing, etc., promote the construction progress with high standards, and realize the standardization of project quality.

The completion of the pouring of the first span deck slab provides valuable experience for the subsequent construction of the upper span deck slab of the project. Both the preparation before construction and the control during construction have a clear idea, which tamps the technical foundation.
