Yang Shi studied hard and respected his teachers, and lived up to the expectations of Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi. With his unremitting efforts, the Ercheng theory, from Luo Congyan to Li Dong and then to Zhu Xi, finally gathered the great achievements of Neo Confucianism and founded the Min School. In the south of Youxi County, along the Qingyin River, 268 mu of contiguous ancient buildings are magnificent. The tall statue of Zhu Xi stands in the center of the square. The buildings on both sides of the square, such as Nanxi Academy, Kaishan Academy, and the half acre square pond, bear Zhu Xi's moving deeds.
In the fourth year of Jianyan in the Southern Song Dynasty, Zhu Xi was born in the Zheng's Xinan Museum (Nanxi Academy). Zhu Xi had a happy childhood here, leaving such popular stories as "asking the sky when he was a child", "drawing divinatory symbols on sandbanks", etc. After he left Youxi, he went back to Youxi nine times, leaving poems, essays and calligraphy such as "Feeling of Reading Books" and "Four Roots".
"No official is big or small, and everything is just a public character." Zhu Xi had a very short career in politics, but during his tenure, he was honest in performing official duties and fearless of power and nobility. On July 19, the ninth year of Chunxi's reign in the Southern Song Dynasty, Zhu Xi went to Taizhou to inspect the disaster. Someone reported that Tang Zhongyou, the governor of Taizhou, was dishonest. He immediately investigated, and found out that he had committed many illegal acts. Tang Zhongyou was the in laws of the Prime Minister Wang Huai, and Zhu Xi recommended him to hold the office of Changping tea and salt in eastern Zhejiang. In the face of righteousness and personal love, Zhu Xi chose the former and impeached Tang Zhongyou six times.

At the bank of Shaxi Lake, in the center of the empty urban cultural square, a red flag sculpture is fluttering in the wind, making the square more solemn and solemn. Behind the sculpture, the Revolutionary Memorial Hall of the Central Soviet Area of Sanming City, with the theme of "The wind shows the red flag like a picture", deeply interprets the revolutionary history and spirit of Sanming. Since Xia Guanjinquan, Jiang Gan and others established the first party organization in Sanming District in Shaxian County in 1928, Sanming people have fought bravely and continuously under the leadership of the Party. In the revolutionary war years, 37000 Sanming children joined the Red Army, 11200 of whom took part in the Long March and undertook the most arduous tasks of vanguard and guard. Most of them died heroically in the Xiangjiang Campaign. When they arrived in northern Shaanxi, there were only 76 people left. In particular, under the leadership of Chen Shuxiang, the Seventh Independent Division of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army (later reorganized as the 34th Division of the Fifth Red Army), composed mostly of the children of Sanming and Longyan in the west of Fujian, deployed defense and pursued the enemy from Wenshi to Shuiche in Guanyang County, northern Guangxi. After five days and four nights of bloody battles with the enemy, most of the 4000 officers and men of the whole division died, and the Xiangjiang River was stained with blood. When Chen Shuxiang, a 29 year old division commander, was captured after being shot in the abdomen, he used his hand to wring his intestines from the abdominal wound while the enemy was unprepared, and died heroically, fulfilling the oath of "shedding the last drop of blood for the Soviet New China" with his life.
Drink water and think of the origin, inherit the red gene. The revolutionary martyrs' spirit of firm ideals and beliefs, fearing no sacrifice, integrity, self-discipline, and selfless dedication has been continuously inherited and carried forward, and has cultivated the political ecology of Sanming style and integrity.
In the winter of 1969, Gu Wenchang was sent to the Red Flag Brigade of Hekou Commune in Ninghua County (now Hongqi Village, Shibi Town) as a member. As soon as he arrived at the brigade, he went deep into the fields, plunged into the people to carry out investigation and research, improved agricultural production methods, and made the per mu yield of the Red Flag Brigade rise to a thousand kilograms, which was affectionately known as "Grain Man Cang" by the masses. In July 1970, he was appointed as the Commander in Chief of Longpi Reservoir. He ate, lived and worked with the masses, and participated in almost all types of work on the construction site. In August 1971, when the reservoir was completed, the people of Hekou ended the era of water shortage, and the reservoir is still in use.

Pan Dongsheng, a former vice mayor of Sanming City and a model of the times of the director of the public security bureau, strictly abides by party discipline and national law, and takes the lead in honesty and self-discipline. He is called "the director of the public security bureau who does not go to dinner party" by netizens. On September 25, 2021, he died on business due to long-term overload work, which made him ill from overwork.

According to textual research, in the spring of the third year of Chunxi in the Southern Song Dynasty, when Zhu Xi returned to Youxi to visit the descendants of Zheng An Dao at his birthplace, he wrote the "Four Roots" with deep gratitude to the Zheng family at the request of Zheng's descendants. Since then, the Zheng family took it as the basis of building a family and being a man, and carved four board couplets to hang in the room as family instructions from generation to generation.
There is a winding and moving story behind this precious cultural relic that has been preserved so far. In the 1950s and 1960s, the board couplet was at risk of being destroyed. Zheng's descendants took the risk of hiding it in a cemetery. Unfortunately, the first couplet was destroyed when it was taken out. In 1982, Mr. Zheng Dayu, a descendant of the Zheng family, decided to present the manuscript board couplet of Zhu to Youxi County Museum for collection. He said: "I am nearly 90 years old, so it is very difficult to keep these cultural relics. It is better and safer to hand them over to the state for collection. I hope that more people can understand the" Four Roots "and Zhu."
This set of precious board couplets is concise and rich in content. It contains the idea of integrity, self-cultivation and family unity. It comes down in one continuous line with the idea of "loyalty, filial piety, honesty and integrity".
