Changzhi Municipal District is located in the east and south of Shanxi Province, bordering Jinzhong in the north, Hebei and Henan in the east, and Jincheng District in the south. It has jurisdiction over 2 districts, 1 city and 10 counties, including 51 towns, 182 townships and 12 sub district offices.The municipal government is stationed at Bayi Road.[History] Changzhi was called Shangdang in ancient times.Shang and Zhou were the territory of the State of Li and the capital of Korea in the Warring States Period.After the annexation of the Six Kingdoms by the Qin Dynasty, it belonged to Shangdang County. Shangdang County was established in the Sui Dynasty, and Changzhi County was established in the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty. "Changzhi" was thus used.In 1951, it was changed into a city, which was directly under the provincial government. In 1958, it was under the jurisdiction of the Southeast Shanxi Special Administration, and in 1975, it was returned to the provincial government.In 1983, it added Changzhi County and Lucheng County, and changed to the current system in 1985.The territory has overlapping mountains and dangerous terrain. It has been a place for military strategists to contend for, such as Xibo's overthrow of Li in the early Zhou Dynasty, the destruction of Gao in the Spring and Autumn Period and Jin Dynasty, the battle between Han and Zhao in the Warring States Period, the Qin general's Baiqi's attack on Zhao, and
