Chapter 45 The Troubles of Young Girls

Gwen stood at the top of a tall building in Brooklyn, watching the endless flow of cars and people below.

It was drizzling and cars roared past.

Through the misty rain and fog, she saw electric cities located not far away.

The line of sight then looked into the distance. The neat high-rise buildings were like a dark fence, outlining the jagged skyline.

She felt insecure like walking on thin ice, as if she might break through the ground and fall into the abyss at any time.

In the drizzle, she held the phone in front of her and waited for Peter's reply.

Peter quickly replied to her with a message: "Each of us has a monster in our heart. Gwen, you are not alone."

Gwen looks at the text message sent by Peter and wipes the rain off the mobile phone screen.

"Do you mean you also have a monster of death in your heart?"

It suddenly occurred to her that Peter had said to himself before, "Death is not lonely."

Soon Peter replied to her, "Yes, there is a big theater of death in my heart. The curtain on the stage is always open. Death plays are playing here all the time. The actors are skeletons."

Gwen thought Peter was talking about cancer, so he felt sad when he saw this passage.

"Sorry, Peter, I... I shouldn't have mentioned this."

"It doesn't matter."

Gwen holds the phone silently. She doesn't know how to tell Peter about her affairs.

Tell him if he was bitten by a spider, could he become a monster like Frank?

What's the use of Peter telling him if he doesn't believe in himself?

Peter has cancer and is still in the treatment stage.

This will only make him more worried, and may even cause more damage to his body.

Gwen hesitated, typed and replied to Peter, "I'm sorry I didn't go back after asking for leave in the morning. Sometimes, I'm so wayward that I can't understand."

"You have your reasons, Gwen, I know."

"Thank you, Peter. Thank you for listening to my troubles. Maybe... I will find a suitable opportunity to tell you about my affairs. I think a lot about the future recently."

Gwen put down his mobile phone and put his hands in his pockets, feeling the cold rain.

She hasn't thought about the future for a long time.

My original life is drifting on the lazy river.

But the future is just like a small flying insect that never goes away. It is always buzzing in her ears, making her restless.

She once heard of an experiment in which rats and monkeys in the laboratory could usually live healthily if they were given the illusion of choice.

Even if they have only two choices: mild shock and severe shock.

But at least they can feel the difference of the results, so they are full of joy and live more happily.

And if these mice and monkeys are not given a choice but are constantly subjected to electric shock, they will become more and more anxious.

They may bite through the fur on their hands and feet and eventually die of cancer or heart disease.

After a while, Gwen stretched out his hands and focused his eyes on them.

I don't know how long it will be before I bite off the fur on my hand.

Take a deep breath and look at the roof on the other side, which is far away from the clock tower. Gwen puts on a white hood.

She wants to try the feeling of jumping again.

I tried to jump here when I was chased by the members of the Hand Union.

If Peter had not held himself, he might have fallen down and died.

Recalling how he felt when he jumped up and caught Spiderman falling in the air.

"What I can do is how I felt at that time."

As he recited, Gwen sped forward.

With a bang, Gwen jumped forward with his feet away from the edge of the roof.

"Uh...!"

Get your feet down safely.

Stepping on the edge of the roof, Gwen suddenly slipped before he could breathe a sigh of relief.

The roof stained with rain was extremely wet and slippery. Gwen stumbled on his shoes, lost his balance and fell backward.

Out of balance, she reached out to catch something, but in the end, in vain, she just caught a touch of air.

Gwen panicked when he fell from the high speed.

Trying to force herself to calm down, she suddenly thought of what she saw, the scene of Spider Man shooting spider silk.

With the mind mind turning, Gwen tried to imitate the other's gesture, and his right hand shot forward.

"Whoosh!"

A white sticky substance splashed on the wall.

And Gwen was pulled to the wall with this force.

With her hands clinging to the wall, she found herself able to support her body.

In shock, she climbed up the wall and quickly climbed to the roof.

Standing on the roof, Gwen took off his hood and looked at his hands in surprise.

Just now, something similar to Spider Man's spider silk was shot!

own...... Can you be like Spiderman?!

......

Peter stands in the drizzle at New York Presbyterian Hospital, putting away his mobile phone.

He told Gwen that there was a theatre of death in his heart.

In addition to a shadow of death lurking in his chest, it is because he had seen many deaths and killings in his previous life when he was a mercenary of the Welland Company.

Dense white bones are just the most common scene.

The memory of the past flashed in his mind, and he walked to the hospital.

Dr. Ryan is waiting for him in the office because he contacted him in advance.

"Long time no see, Mr. Parker."

Dr. Ryan looked good and took the initiative to stand up and greet him.

"The time should not be too long."

Peter sat opposite him. "Is it because every time I come, Dr. Ryan hopes it will be the last time?"

Faced with Peter's jocular tone, Dr. Ryan smiled, "How could I? I am a doctor with professional quality, how could I hope such a thing would happen?"

"Well, your professional quality may be good, but people say you may not have much professional ethics."

Peter said casually, "But we can talk about professional quality later. Now it's still important."

"Of course."

Dr. Ryan got up to examine Peter.

Half an hour later.

Peter asked Dr. Ryan, who looked at the CT image, "How is it?"

"You..."

Ryan took a deep breath, hesitated and asked Peter, "Have you changed anything recently?"

Change

"Well, some changes in external signs."

Peter nodded. "The strength has increased significantly."

Dr. Ryan showed Peter the CT image, "It seems that it has some variation, and the shape of the body surface has changed."

The image of the embryo in front of me presents a completely different shape.
