Chapter 1 Going out of the Mountain

In the State of Zhou, the city of Luyang was silent. A carriage drove out of the city gate. The grass was long and the birds were flying. Horses trampled on the morning dew and ran south.

Driving on the winding mountain road, I finally arrived at a remote town in the suburb at dusk, and the carriage stopped in front of a restaurant.

A emaciated old man slowly came down from the carriage, and the people who had been waiting at the door hurried to meet him.

"Taoist Priest Niu, please come here. We have been waiting for you for a long time. Please come in!" the middle-aged man at the head said respectfully.

"Hum, if the sect had not changed its previous style and widely accepted disciples this time, I wouldn't have to go to such a remote place!" The old man snorted with disdain.

The first two hurriedly made amends and joined in.

"Hiss!" The horses on the other side shouted impatiently. It was a rare Hongwan horse. After a long high-speed sprint, the shoulder position slowly swelled and sweated like blood.

"Good life will take care of it. Tonight, I will stop here and lead the way. I will see how qualified they are." The old man asked while walking.

In an elegant wing room, the old man sat on the main seat in the hall, sipping the best spring tea, raising his eyebrows and looking at the children standing opposite, the oldest of whom was 13 years old, while the youngest was only 9 years old.

Although he was born in a remote place, his spiritual roots and aptitude are the most important in the path of cultivating immortals. It is not necessarily that there is no birth of genius.

The old man's trip is just a great way to clean up the sand. It can add incense to the sect even if it is hard.

The old man surnamed Niu took out a brocade box from his arms, put a fist sized bead on the table, and explained: "This is the bead test to test the attributes of spiritual roots. You should go forward one by one and concentrate on putting your hands on it."

The head child was the oldest, so he hurried to attach his hands to it. After a cup of tea, the beads were gray and unresponsive.

"You are out, the next one!" The boy retreated to the side dejectedly.

The second one came forward was a girl with a powder carving and jade carving. Her head was tied in a pigtail facing the sky. Her small face was very ruddy because of excitement. She walked forward with a look of anticipation and her hands were attached. At first, there was no response to the bead test, and suddenly the bead flashed red light

"It's a worthwhile trip, the fire attribute root!" Taoist Niu sighed with relief.

"You stand on the left, next!"

Next, three children did not light up the pearl inspection.

There was only one little boy left. He looked very thin and yellow, far less healthy than his peers.

He saluted the old man and walked slowly to the bead test. The old man looked up at him and then turned his eyes to the girl beside him.

The boy put his hand on it with great anxiety, but the bead test did not respond at all. He was very anxious and tried his best to grasp it, just like grasping the last straw.

Finally, the bead test seemed to be awakened by his hard hands, and a faint yellow light flashed. This ray of light was sensitively captured by the old man.

The old man surnamed Niu raised his eyebrows and said, "It's a bit of qualification to be able to light up the pearl test. It's your destiny. Take it, and you can go with me!"

The boy was stunned on the spot, and then he jumped up excitedly. He wanted to go to the outside world in his dreams, and now he finally got closer to his dream.

Early the next morning, the old man and the two people were ready to leave the town. Suddenly, they left their hometown where they had lived for many years. The two children were very reluctant to part. They shared their feelings of separation with their families that night. They waited for the Taoist Priest at the gate of the tavern early in the morning.

"To make a long story short, there are still several places to visit. Hurry up!" the old man said impatiently.

Then the carriage set out from the town to the next town.

The old man and Yan said, "My name is Niu Buli. You two have followed me and Pingshui is destined to meet. Little girl, what's your name?"

The girl looked smart and said, "Immortal Master, the disciple's name is Yu Chuchu."

The boy did not wait to ask again, but replied hurriedly, "The disciple's surname is Shen, and his name is Yin."

"Clear, good name, Shen Yin, uh... well!" The old man's face changed slightly and stroked his beard.

The carriage stopped and went to several places on the way, finally found several qualified children, and finally returned to the mountain gate seven days later.

Yunze Mountain, formerly known as Jinding Mountain, is said to have towered into the clouds thousands of years ago. At sunrise, the peak was shining like a golden tripod soaring into the sky. Later, an extraterrestrial meteorite rain came here, and Shengsheng broke the original tall and straight peak back into two peaks, but even if it was split in two, it was the highest peak in this mountain range. The unique climate environment makes the mountain surrounded by clouds all the year round, and the four seasons are like spring, so it is renamed Yunze Mountain.

Hundreds of years ago, a sect named Fog Hidden Sect moved here. Since then, Yunze Mountain has been surrounded by the array all the year round, becoming a fairy mountain, a forbidden place in the eyes of ordinary people.

The carriage stopped at the Wuli Pavilion in front of the mountain gate, and the disciples in charge of reception came to greet them. As soon as the children got out of the car, they were stopped by the scene in front of them. The mountain covers a wide area. The mountains, large and small, are looming in the clouds, like a celestial mountain out of the sky.

Niu ignored them and led them to the mountain gate on foot. Shen Yin kept looking around while walking. There are many children about his age around him. They should be disciples selected from other places, as many as hundreds of people.

The crowd could not help but stop. A huge plaque stood on the mountain gate, with three characters "Fog Hidden Sect" written on it, which was very impressive.

At the porch stood a middle-aged Taoist with a reddish face and a lavender Taoist suit.

"It's really hard to recall you from Luyang without paying attention to younger martial brother!" said the middle-aged Taoist.

"No way, please wait here. Younger martial brother is just doing his own thing." Niu saluted the Taoist in purple, and his face was strangely flattering.

"Hmm!" The hall master measured the bustling children, and felt a little happy.

"Send them to the Meditation House in the middle of the mountain, have a good night's rest, and start selecting disciples in each hall in the morning. If they are unqualified, arrange to send them back to their hometown as soon as possible to avoid any trouble."

"Yes, Lord!" The disciple in charge of receiving orders.

The hall across the entrance is a row of stone steps, about nine feet wide. The children are excited to step into the new environment, but they are very tacitly afraid to make a sound, and follow the lead disciples closely.

Along the way, the disciples who went up and down the mountain kept shuttling. Those who knew each other well would greet and ask each other. About half an hour later, they came to the middle of the mountain where there were three forks. Next to them, there was a stone arch bridge connecting another relatively small mountain.

Shen Yin and others were arranged here. Around the top of the mountain was a lush bamboo forest, and in the middle of the open space were rows of wing houses.

Shen Yin couldn't sleep when he lay down. He might have been on the road for a long time and didn't have a good rest until late at night. He fell asleep slowly on the plank bed and had a beautiful dream. In his dream, he returned home with flying swords, and became the most fashionable man in the town.

The next morning, they were taken to the bamboo forest at the foot of the mountain. There was a large space in the middle of the bamboo forest, full of cut bamboo everywhere. In the middle of the field, there are Hall Leader Lian and several other deacons waiting there.
