Shidu

AAA Grade A scenic spot

Shidu Scenic Area, located in the southwest of Fangshan District, Beijing, is the only large-scale karst landform in northern China. Shidu Scenic Area is China's National AAAA Scenic Area and China's National Geopark. Shidu Scenic Area is a river valley formed by the Juma River, a tributary of the Daqing River, cutting the northern end of the Taihang Mountains. The whole journey is about 20 kilometers. In history, there were ten ferries across the Juma River in this valley, so it was named "Shidu". Now the highway has been built into the river valley, and these ten ferries have been transformed into overflow bridges without real ferries, but the name of Shidu has always been used today [View details]
