2、 New product introduction

The main contents of this press conference can be summarized as two product lines, namely, the new generation Zen5 architecture CPU, the supporting X870/X870E chipset, and the new generation Ryzen AI 300 series AI CPU, which focuses on mobile terminals.

The desktop end corresponding to the CPU of the new generation Zen5 architecture is the Nintendo 9000 series, whose code is Granite Ridge. It uses the AM5 interface, supports PCIe 5.0 interface, and supports DDR5 memory.

From the perspective of internal architecture, the Ruilong 9000 series CPU improves the accuracy and delay of branch prediction, achieves higher throughput through wider pipes and carriers, and achieves higher parallel performance through deeper window sizes.

In terms of front-end instruction bandwidth, L1 and L2 cache data bandwidth, and AI and AVX512 performance, the Zen5 architecture achieves twice the improvement of the previous Zen4 architecture.

In terms of IPC, Zen5 has an average increase of 16% compared with Zen4. Considering that Zen5 has no crazy reactor core or violent frequency increase compared with Zen4, it is also very helpful to have such an increase in IPC.

The desktop CPU of Zen5 architecture is named as the Nintendo 9000 series. The first four models are Nintendo 9 9950X, Nintendo 9 9900X, Nintendo 7 9700X and Nintendo 5 9600X, which will be officially launched in July this year.

Among them, the most high-end Reelung 9 9950X is designed with 16 core 32 threads, the maximum acceleration frequency is 5.7GHz, the total L2+L3 cache is 80MB, and the TDP power consumption is 170W.

Compared with Intel's flagship i9 14900K, the performance advantage of the Sharp Dragon 9 9950X is huge, including 7% - 56% in office and 4% - 23% in games.

The number of PCIe 5.0 channels of the Sharp Dragon 9 9950X is 100% more than 14900K, and the AI operation speed is 20% faster than 14900K.

In order to support the brand new Sharp Dragon 9000 series CPU, AMD also released the X870/X870E series chipset. The new chipset adds native USB 4.0, provides PCIe 5.0 graphics card slot and M.2 slot, and also supports higher EXPO memory frequency, which makes high-frequency memory useful.

Of course, users of old mainboards should not be discouraged. According to AMD's plan, they will not give up the AM5 interface until 2027, so I guess AMD will probably let the old mainboards like X670/X670E and B650 continue to support new CPUs.

AMD even released two "old U" models of ZEN3 architecture at the exhibition, one is Ryzen 9 5900XT, and the other is Ryzen 7 5800XT. It's a blessing for old users who stick to the DDR4 platform.

Although it is ZEN3 architecture, Ryzen 9 5900XT can communicate with i7 13700K thanks to its high specification.

Ryzen 7 5800XT is also slightly better than i5 13600KF.

Next is another highlight of this press conference - the third generation AI PC focusing on mobile terminals.

From the on-site display, the third generation AI PC has 50 TOPs of AI computing power. Compared with the first generation and the second generation of 10 TOPs and 16 TOPs, it has greatly improved, which will bring users a more perfect and efficient AI experience.

The core component of the third generation AI PC is naturally the new AMD Ryzen AI 300 series CPU. In addition to adopting a new naming method, it also brings new changes in architecture.

AMD Ryzen AI 300 series CPU has launched two models at present - Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and Ryzen AI 9 365.
