The Pearl River surrounds Guangzhou for two thousand years. Since ancient times, water has carried a story: like time, water finds its own flow through natural movement, and also experiences changes.

Guangzhou Tianhe Runfu is located in Tianhe Smart Valley, which is just located in the central axis of Guangzhou science and technology. Together with Pearl River New City and Financial City, it is the "core of Tianhe". The emerging science and innovation industry has also attracted endless development vitality for the region.

As the intersection of the past and the present, we expect to use the image of water and regional cultural symbols to integrate the traditional wisdom of Cantonese people living by water into the language of modern architecture. At the same time, is it possible to innovate in the hinterland of Lingnan?   Can we break the traditional architectural pattern and create new space experience ？

In the design blueprint of Tianhe Runfu in Guangzhou, we did not stop at the planning framework of traditional residential areas, continued the context of Lingnan garden architecture, and created A future oriented "Lingnan Garden" includes the understanding and imagination of the past and future life.

It is undeniable that human beings have never stopped their pursuit of exploration in two directions: one is to trace back the origin of ancient and modern times, the other is to explore the future life. Reflected in human settlements, it is the construction of the field of contemporary culture and future life.

The ideal community should not only provide comfortable accommodation, but also be a shared world that can inspire inspiration, enhance neighborhood interaction, and carry multiple cultures.

We abandoned the complicated and stacked decorative language in form and design details, and the light and twisted lines show the perceptual expression under rational design. Introduce the concept of "floating community box" The space units with different functions are integrated into a box that penetrates with the surrounding environment.

We have opened the interior space to introduce more nature into the interior; And The building concession was made at the entrance of the first floor to strengthen the ritual sense of the entrance, and The first floor is connected to the overhead floor to form a smooth tour experience.

In order to increase the permeability of the building, we made a partial retreat on the second floor to form a terrace space. Streamlined structural lines make the overall building look more light and flexible The overall effect is like suspending between reality and dream, giving the community a strong visual impact.

When we combed the flow of community home, we broke through the logic of traditional architecture , consider buildings and residential areas as a whole We hope not only to assume the basic function of building entrances and exits, but also to be able to display as the whole facade of the community and create urban destination coordinates.

Rooted in the rivers flowing in the south of the Five Ridges, Tianhe Runfu's roof design inspiration comes from The form and symbolic meaning of "swimming fish" We abstractly present the image of swimming fish with the main facade of S-shaped twist, and use honeycomb aluminum materials to simulate the delicate texture of fish scales, making the whole building like a big fish, meandering in the air.

The box like compound space of the community, from online to offline, enables people to resonate and connect with each other here. Each community needs a diverse, integrated, warm and interesting cultural space to become an ideal place for social life. The free and casual architectural lines convey the comfortable and comfortable life attitude of Cantonese people.

The building skyline formed by the "big fish" also ingeniously forms a harmonious echo relationship with the rolling hills in the distance, and integrates with the surrounding environment, enriching the overall visual effect.

In the past, after the end of the exhibition period, the functionality and existence value of the buildings in the demonstration area often faced an embarrassing situation. When we conceived this case, we hoped that it would not only stop at the exhibition stage, so we created it as A multi-functional community box type compound space, taking into account the short-term display goals of the sales office and the long-term use needs of the neighborhood center.

How can we create a space carrier with the dual attributes of temporary display and permanent community facilities? Our answer is Leave blank 。

Through the landmark S-shaped roof design and the overhead space on the first floor, the appearance image that is extremely compatible with nature is not only created, which is convenient for efficient communication of the high-end quality and living atmosphere of the project in the short term, but also considers the versatility and convertibility of the space in the long run.

The design has reserved enough plastic space so that the community can adapt to the ever-changing needs of residents at different stages When the exhibition period is over, these spaces can easily be transformed into a variety of public activity areas It provides broad possibilities for everyone's diversified daily social interaction, leisure and entertainment activities.

Ritual community entrance

From the beginning of the entrance, walk into the pure forest full of Chinese tallow trees, and feel like you are in the deep forest park. The eyes are occupied by the layers of trees and the birds sing gently in the ears, opening a long lost encounter.

The gentle and smooth curves are used to shape a warm and full shape, and the avant-garde aesthetic is used to shape the shape of its own style. Not only the building itself, from inside to outside, whether it is a quiet outdoor mirror water scene or an indoor towering art installation, it blends without boundaries and presents a unified and harmonious tone, hoping that people can feel the resonance of space here.

"All things are contented while watching, and life is quiet and far away." Through the building, skylight, cloud shadow, green water, and green trees together form an oriental artistic conception painted with modern techniques, where water, sky, and stone are the same color, and the artistic conception is ethereal and distant.

Through the rational allocation of space and careful selection of materials, with the aesthetic purpose of harmony, nature and implication, we enable the surrounding residents to break through the mundane triviality and material hardness, find a quiet self, enjoy a peaceful heart, and feel the charm and precipitation of traditional culture transmission.

The symbolic roof is the main focus of our work to explore the combination of space and local culture. The custom of "swimming fish" has been practiced in Lingnan since the reign of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty.

In order to reflect the texture of "swimming fish", we choose aluminum plate as the skin material, which can make the whole curtain wall as smooth and bright as fish scale texture under the arrangement of parametric modeling; The internal support adopts the hyperbolic dragon skeleton structure. The roof and the outer skin of the building form a continuous integrated design. The pure facade is also well integrated with the surrounding natural environment.

In order to explore the possibility of design landing, we selected a part of the overall curved wall as a sample section, and tested the performance effect of the two materials by building a sample in different places: Honeycomb aluminum plate And Aluminum veneer After comparison and test, the more durable and expressive Honeycomb aluminum plate As the main material of curved wall.
