Introduction to Silver

Silver is an ancient and magical land with a long and splendid history and culture, rich and diverse natural landscapes. The Yellow River, the Great Wall and the ancient Silk Road converge here, and it is an important birthplace of Chinese civilization. In October 1936, the first, second and fourth front armies of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army successfully joined forces in Huining, leaving a glorious chapter in the history of the Chinese revolution. Baiyin was established as a county-level city in 1956, upgraded to a prefecture level city in 1958, revoked in 1963, and resumed the establishment of a prefecture level city system in 1985. Currently, it has jurisdiction over Huining, Jingyuan and Jingtai counties, Baiyin and Pingchuan districts, 82 towns and 7 sub district offices. The city has a total area of 21000 square kilometers and a total population of 1.75 million, including 491800 urban population.
