On December 13, 2018, Kuokaoka City, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan announced that retail stores were prohibited from providing plastic bags to customers, in order to reduce the marine pollution caused by plastic waste. The objects of implementation of this regulation are about 760 supermarkets, convenience stores and other retail stores in the city. [1]
