The Chinese side invited the Meteorological and Hydrological Bureau of the Ministry of Transport of Myanmar to participate in the "Asian Monsoon Outbreak Monitoring and Its Social and Ecological Impact (MOMSEI)" launched by the Chinese side under the framework of the Western Pacific Subcommittee of the Intergovernmental Maritime Commission. The Meteorological and Hydrological Bureau of the Ministry of Transport of Myanmar hosted the fifth expert working group meeting of the project in Yanguang, Myanmar, from September 28 to 29, 2011,Myanmar also sent young scientists to participate in five summer training courses held by the project, laying the foundation for China Myanmar cooperation in the maritime field.[2]
