Tide type refers to the type of tide classified according to the fluctuation times of tide in a day and the height of two adjacent high tides (or low tides). It is divided into semi diurnal tide, diurnal tide and mixed tide. There are two cycles (two high tides and two low tides) in a lunar day (about 24:50), that is, the completion of a fluctuation cycle is half a day, and the height difference between the two high tides (or low tides) is very small, which is called "half a day tide". The tide level fluctuation in most sea areas belongs to this type. In a few sea areas, there is only one high tide and low tide in a lunar day, which is called "diurnal tide". The transitional type between semi diurnal tide and diurnal tide is called "mixed tide". The mixed tide is divided into irregular semidiurnal tide and irregular diurnal tide. In the former, the height of two high tides (or low tides) on a lunar day is significantly different; In the latter case, the height difference between two high tides (or low tides) on a lunar day is more serious, so that sometimes there is only one high tide and low tide on a day, but the number of full tide days in a half month does not exceed 7 days.
