As of April 2024, Shuohuang Railway will start from the westxinzhou Shenchi CountyShenchi South Station, east toCangzhou CityHuanghuaHuanghua Port Station, 33 stations in total, 594 km long main line[1]The design speed is 120 km/h and the operating speed is 120 km/h.
In 1985, the railway from Shuo County to Huanghua Port in Shenfu Dongsheng Coal Field was newly built[5]Start preparation[1]。

On September 28, 2005, Shuohuang Railway passed the national acceptance[1]。
On October 15, 2009, Shuohuang Railway was upgraded to a heavy haul railway with 10000 ton trains[2]。
On December 27, 2012, the 20000 ton test train of Shuohuang Railway was successfully launched, which indicates that Shuohuang Railway has the conditions for 20000 ton train operation[3]。
On March 9, 2016, Shuohuang Railway began to operate 20000 ton trains in a normal manner[3];In July, Shuohuang Railway Expansion and Reconstruction Project was completed[9]。
On September 20, 2022, the annual transport capacity of Shuohuang Railway will rise to 360 million tons[4]。
On August 31, 2023, Shuohuang Railway will complete the automatic driving test of 20000 ton trains on the east line and the first 10000 ton marshalling train on the west line[2]。
On April 20, 2024, Shuohuang Railway completed the 30000 ton operation test, setting a new record for China's longest marshalling and heaviest heavy haul combined train[12]。In May, the first set of external environmental safety early warning system for heavy haul trains in China was successfully put into trial operation in the Suning North to Litianmu section of the Shuohuang Railway of the National Energy Group, the second largest channel for transporting coal from the west to the east in China.[16]In August, the main structure of Changliangshan Tunnel Water Quality Improvement Project of Shuohuang Railway was capped.[18]On August 21, the production line of Shuohuang Railway Rail Welding Base was officially launched.[19]On September 8, the replacement of the first group of heavy haul turnouts on the business line of Huanghua South Station of Shuozhou Huanghua Railway contracted by the Third Company of China Railway Fourth Bureau was completed.[20]On September 12, the first bid section of electrification reconstruction project of Huangwan Wanzhou Line of Shuohuang Railway was successfully powered.[21]On September 22, Huangwan Line of Guoneng Shuohuang Railway was electrified and put into operation.[22]On September 26, the unmanned heavy haul train of Shuohuang Railway of National Energy Group successfully completed the test and opened.[23]

There are 77 tunnels (66.3 km) and 381 bridges along the Shuohuang Railway[1]Crossing Hengshan Mountains and Taihang Mountains, crossing Hutuo River for 15 times, with a fall of 1527.63 meters between the east and west ends of the railway;Shensu section is high in mountains and deep in valleys. Bridges and tunnels are connected. 367 bridges are 80.3 kilometers long and 77 tunnels are 66.3 kilometers long. The construction is difficult and the technical standard is high[10];The Suhuang section is located in the North China Plain, with alluvial proluvial plain, alluvial plain, alluvial marine plain, coastal plain, coastal beach and other landforms. The engineering geology is distributed from east to west with soft clay layer, soft stratum, saline soil layer, seashore and coastal inundation area. At the same time, there is a large amount of liquefied soil and saline soil.
