CCSDS is the abbreviation of the Advisory Committee on Spatial Data Systems, and is a technical consultative body established by space organizations around the world to support each other. For more than a decade, it has launched a set of technical proposals, some of which have been directly transformed into the official international standards of the International Organization for Standardization. CCSDS standards not only lay a technical foundation for the realization of an open and interconnected international spatial data system network, It also reflects the latest technological development trend of the world's space data system. If China's space technology is to go global, the space TT&C and data system system must be in line with the CCSDS standard·

Basic Introduction

CCSDS It is an international coordination body jointly and formally established by the management departments of space organizations of various countries. It was established in January 1982. Only national space organizations can become members or observers of it. Scientific or industrial institutions can only be non permanent members. Members must participate CCSDS And provide support, and use it internally CCSDS Has the right to participate CCSDS Internal voting; Observers can participate in their activities in a small amount and encourage the use of CCSDS For internal standards compatible with standards, observers do not directly participate in voting; Informal members can only pay attention to CCSDS Is recommended CCSDS At present, the organization has 9 formal members, 22 observers and 101 informal members
The purpose of the organization is to establish a set of standards for space data systems through technical consultation, so as to achieve extensive international cooperation and mutual support. With the development of space industry, space missions are increasing, and the systems are becoming more and more complex. Some missions require continuous tracking of spacecraft by TT&C, but it is impossible for global stations, so we began to consider centralized design of TT&C for several missions, The use of a unified tracking system will further enable different countries to adopt a unified or mutually compatible measurement and control system in terms of spacecraft measurement and control, including measurement and control transmission format and frequency, to form a standardization, so as to achieve mutually supportive research and tackling key problems, so as to achieve extensive international cooperation and mutual support, that is, earth stations and earth stations, earth stations and spacecraft, Spacecraft can be connected and communicated with each other. The tracking, measurement, data acquisition, communication and control of a country's spacecraft can all rely on international forces, thus greatly saving human, financial and material resources. It is possible to expand the launch window of spacecraft, increase the opportunities to save spacecraft, and improve the utilization rate of spacecraft

Research group

Announce
edit
CCSDS According to the research direction, the activities of the project are divided into four research groups (panels), and there are several subpanels under each research group

The first research group (p1)

The first research group (P1) is a telemetry, tracking and command group, and the following groups are set up below:
a. Subcontracting telemetry team (PIA);
b, Telemetry Channel Coding Group (PIB);
c. Telemetry Instruction Group (PIC);
d. Time code format group (PID);
e. Radio Frequency and Modulation Group (PIE);
f. Advanced Network Team (PlF);
g. Data Link Group (PIG)

Research Group II (P2)

The second research group (P2) is a standard formatted data unit group, and the following groups are set up below:
a. Data Unit Logic Concept Group (P2A)
b, Data Structure Group (P2B);
c. Data Definition Language Group (P2C)<:

Research Group 3 (P3)

The third research group (P3) is a mutual support group, and the following groups are set up:
A mutually supportive definition and scope group (P3A);
b. Mutual supporting communication protocol information security group (P3B);
c. Mutual Support Ground Communication System Measures Group (P3C)

The fourth research group (p4)

The fourth research group is the orbit measurement research group (P4) without a subordinate group

In order to better understand the development process of CCSDS standards, CCSDS has published a series of publications, and a total of 123 sets of books have been launched

Blue Book: Recommended Standards

CCSDS recommended standards (blue books) define specific interfaces, technical capabilities or protocols, or provided interfaces, protocols or other control standards, such as normative and/or normative definitions of coding methods. The standards must be complete, clear and in sufficient technical detail that they can directly achieve interoperability and cross support levels for space missions. The standard must be very clear, "This is how you must build something if you want it to meet".
At present, 46 sets of books have been launched

Redbook: Suggested measures

CCSDS suggested measures (magenta books) are the consensus results of CCSDS social review, and provide a way to capture the "best" or "national art" application or use of standard methods. They may include guidelines for selected standards to implement certain applications, or standardized processes or procedures to complete tasks, or other materials (such as reference models) to assist in the design, use, or selection of references to standard sets. The practice says, "Here are the suggestions of the society. You should carry out or describe how this particular type of operation or the social suggestions should be carried out in the future.". Note that the standards recommended by CCSDS are often the technical specifications of the hardware and software components required for the computer communication that supports the interconnection of the entire space mission. The recommended practice may specify some specific "application outlines". Multiple CCSDS standards recommend the use of special mission support configurations. Another use of practice may be to recognize that the infrastructure of the world's space missions is a great organization composed of various goals and rules, operating networks, and requiring these network operators and administrators to follow some common, good user service policies and action guidelines. Although these guidelines are generally different in the scope and style of agreement standards, their establishment requires a similar process of consensus building.
Currently, 16 sets of books have been launched

Green paper: information report

CCSDS information report (green book) aims to provide a wide range of general information of CCSDS society for timely publication. Information documents are often published in support of test specifications, draft standards or recommended standards. Therefore, they may include descriptive materials, analysis, test results, scenarios, etc., which is the content of the technical specification, otherwise it is inappropriate.
At present, 44 sets of books have been launched

Orange Book: Experiment

The CCSDS experimental specification (orange book) indicates that it is part of the research or development effort based on the requirements of the standard, so it is not considered as a standard tracking document. The suggestion of the experiment is to prove the technical feasibility of a "hard" requirement that has not yet appeared. The pilot work may be quickly transferred to standard tracking, and a hard requirement should appear in the future.
At present, 5 sets of books have been launched

Yellow Book: Record

CCSDS record document (yellow book) CCSDS administration CCSDS charter, procedures, meeting minutes and other documents.
Currently, 12 sets of books have been launched
