A global cooperative alliance formed by higher research institutes
The Global University Based Institutes for Advanced Study (UBIAS for short) is a cooperative alliance composed of university affiliated higher research institutes. [2-3] Its members include 48 universities in the Americas (8), East Asia (8), Australia (1), Europe (27), the Middle East (1) and Africa (3).
As a subsidiary or cooperative organization of the university, the higher research institutes affiliated to the Global Alliance of Universities and Higher Research Institutes aim to improve the scientific research level of their universities. At the same time, the Alliance also provides various scholarship programs for young scholars to create an innovative research environment by aggregating outstanding scholars in a variety of disciplines, nationalities and experiences. Global Alliance of Universities and Colleges( UBIAS )Founded in 2010, representatives from 32 research institutions around the world were in Germany Freiburg University The conference of "University Research Institutes in a Global Perspective: Commitment, Challenges, and New Fields" hosted by the Institute of Advanced Research gathered. Unlike the traditional higher education research institutes, UBIAS is a university based alliance of academic institutions, which makes positive contributions to the academic culture and scientific achievements of domestic universities. From 2010 to 2016, UBIAS's institutional headquarters was located in Freiburg University, Germany. Since 2016, its headquarters has been transferred to Denmark Aarhus University
The Global Alliance of Universities and Institutes of Higher Learning maintains academic ties among member units through annual meetings, biennial deans' meetings, and joint plans among partner institutions. One of the joint planning mechanisms of the Global Alliance of Universities and Colleges is the "annual theme", which is declared by each member unit and determined after selection. Later, UBIAS and member units will carry out a series of academic research activities around this theme. The annual theme of 2015 is "Time", the theme of 2016 is "Media and Data Control", and the theme of 2017 is "Fear". [3]
