The nine gates of the city are Rongyang Gate, Chongde Gate, Zhong Xiumen, Xingqian Gate, Wensheng Gate, Windownong Gate, Yinghai Gate, Baoyuan Gate and Xinglong Gate. There is a rammed earth platform in the middle of the city site, which is square, with a side length of 25 meters and a height of 11 meters. It should be a large building foundation site, possibly the site of the Palace of the King. [1]

In the northeast of the Daiwangcheng site, there are two ancient castles facing south, 80 meters apart. The east castle is square, 180 meters long, and built on an earthen platform about two meters high. There is a urn outside the south gate. Only the south gate brick arch coupon pier foundation is left, and the wooden arch is inlaid with a stone plaque, and the ancient two characters of regular script are inscribed in intaglio. It was originally built in the 10th year of Zhengde (1515) of the Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in the 21st year of Jiajing (1542) of the Ming Dynasty. The ramming layer of the earth platform is loose and 25cm thick, which is obviously different from the ramming layer of the outline wall. It is not a war. The foundation site, castle and earth platform of the Han Gaotai building should be built in the Ming Dynasty. The west castle is square, with a side length of 40 meters and a height of 8 meters. It is built of loess. There are many white glazed and black glazed porcelain pieces in the wall, indicating that the city was built after the Liao Dynasty. The two castles have nothing to do with the ancient royal city. In the city, the surface is mostly scattered with argillaceous grey pottery pieces. [3]

Historical culture

In the 19th year of the First Emperor of Qin (228 BC), the First Emperor of Qin conquered the State of Zhao. Jia, the son of Zhao, fled to the Dai State and became king himself, but he was also annexed by Qin six years later. Qin Shihuang finally recovered the territory of the Dai Dynasty, unified the country, and established the first feudal autocratic country. After the establishment of the Han Dynasty, Liu Bang was enfeoffed as a vassal state. In the sixth year of Emperor Gaozu of the Han Dynasty (201 BC), he designated 53 counties of Yunzhong, Yanmen, and Dai three prefectures as the vassal states. The capital of the state of the generation is still in the city of Dai Wang. Liu Heng, Emperor Wen of the Han Dynasty, was also appointed as the acting king. It was not until Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty that the Dai State was abolished. From the time of Zhao Wuxie's extermination to the time of the "Sixteen Kingdoms of Wuhu", the place of Dai has experienced Qin, Han, Three Kingdoms Wei and Jin dynasties for nearly 800 years. In addition to the rule of Gaoliu in the Eastern Han Dynasty (today's Gaoxian County in Shanxiyang), the city of Dai Wang has always been a national (county) town with a long history in the north.
