Can postpartum memory decline be recovered

Sharp, a British scholar, once asked 48 pregnant women to participate in the study, and compared with 19 women who were not pregnant, 81% of pregnant women thought their memory was poor. In addition, the researchers also found that the memory decline was the same for mothers who were pregnant with the first child or multiple babies. Crawley, a psychiatrist at the University of Sunderland in the UK, provided a different view. He tracked 15 pregnant women and 15 normal women, and found quite interesting phenomena in the comparison of language memory and divided attention in the middle of pregnancy, late pregnancy, six weeks after delivery, and one year after delivery. If the objective laboratory test is used, there is no significant difference between the two groups, but if the self-evaluation scale is used at home, the performance of pregnant mothers in the middle of pregnancy in memory and cognitive ability is relatively poor. The researchers speculate that it may be because the difference between pregnant women and normal people is not big enough to be detected by machine tests, that is to say, pregnant women themselves are not really having brain problems because they are anxious or expect others to care about their performance.

From various research reports, it seems that the memory loss of pregnant mothers during pregnancy is certain. What about after birth? Will memory continue to decline?

The Saga Medical College of Japan studied 54 pregnant women by means of visual reproduction memory test. It was found that the memory also declined from birth to three or four days after birth, but there was no problem at term or one month after birth. Although these reasons are not clear, the report shows that the memory of pregnant mothers should return to normal after birth.

However, remember that strong rhythm music may have negative effects, so pregnant mothers should pay more attention when choosing music.

   3. Moderate exercise Unless the pregnant mother has the sign of premature delivery, she should arrange appropriate prenatal exercise. Moderate exercise not only helps to give birth, but also can boost her spirit and increase her concentration.

   4. Keep a good mood : Pregnant mothers should try to reduce the pressure of life and work, because chronic pressure will damage the memory center of the brain located in the hippocampus. You should try to do things slowly. If you can't bear the pressure of work and the economic situation allows, you might as well take a break first.

   5. Make good use of notes : If the pregnant mother still can't remember what she should do, she might as well write it down in an orderly way and cross off one thing after completing one thing, so that she won't always worry about not handling things.

   6. Keep away from cigarettes: Pregnant moms should never smoke. This will not only damage their memory, but also the baby's learning and memory in the future.
