A. Identify old chips:
The old chips are usually removed from the circuit board and then classified and processed. Their pins have obvious solder traces, and the pin spacing is uneven. The size, font and depth of surface printed words and patterns may also differ, and the production batch numbers are generally different. The origin logo on the back may also be messy.

The remanufactured chip looks like a brand new chip. Although the size, font and depth of the printed words and patterns on the surface are basically the same, and the batch number is the same, many small parallel scratches can be found through careful observation. The origin mark on the back may also be different. In addition, the pins of the refurbished chip are generally in a matt state with oxidation traces, and the pin spacing is relatively uniform. Generally, polishing treatment is mainly due to the following reasons: the storage time of new chips is too long or the batch number is messy. After polishing, when it is convenient for customers to use, it will reprint the uniformly updated production batch number and carry out new packaging.

B. Identify bulk (second-hand) chips:
There are differences in the size, font, and depth of the printed words and patterns on the surface of bulk chips. The production batch numbers are generally different, and the origin identification on the back may be messy. However, the pins have no traces of use, but there are traces of oxidation (although sometimes the batch number is the same but there is no original packaging). Usually, this type of chip is used by traders to collect unused chips from various channels and re circulate them to the market.

C. Identify the original chip:
The original chip has the following characteristics: the size, font and depth of the printed words and patterns on the surface are very consistent, and the production batch number and the origin logo on the back are very uniform. The pins are arranged in order and in a matt state with obvious brightness changes in the middle. The product label of this model usually contains the manufacturer's verification information or the agent's order code (the authenticity can be checked according to these barcodes). In addition, the packaging of original chips is more standardized.

This should be stored in CMOS. BIOS This is a program that controls the hardware of the motherboard. CMOS remembers these settings.

The main methods to distinguish the original original goods from the new bulk goods are:
1. Check whether the chip surface has been polished. The polished chip surface will have fine lines or even micro marks printed before. Some chip surfaces are coated with a thin layer of paint to cover up, which looks a little shiny and has no plastic texture.
2. Look at the printing. Most of today's chips are marked by laser or printed by a special chip printer. The writing is clear, neither conspicuous nor fuzzy, and it is difficult to erase. The reconditioned chip either has a "sawtooth" feeling due to the erosion of the edge of the writing by the cleaning agent, or the printing is fuzzy, uneven in depth, incorrect in position, easy to erase or too conspicuous. In addition, the current IC manufacturers of silk screen technology have long been eliminated, but many chip refurbishments still use silk screen technology due to cost reasons, which is also one of the judgment bases. The words of silk screen will be slightly higher than the surface of the chip, and you can feel the slight unevenness or astringency with your hand. However, it should be noted that due to the recent sharp reduction in the price of small laser marking machines, more and more refurbished ICs are using laser marking, and some new chips will also use this method to change the word mark or simply reprint to "improve" the grade of the chip. This requires special attention, and the differentiation method is more difficult, so it needs to practice "eye candy". The main method is to look at the overall coordination. If the handwriting is inconsistent with the background and the new and old degree of pins, such as the characters are too new and too clear, there is a greater possibility of problems. However, many small manufacturers, especially some small IC companies in China, are born with such problems, which adds a lot of trouble to the identification, but it is still meaningful to judge the chips of mainstream large manufacturers. In addition, more and more chip marks have been modified by laser marking machines recently, especially in memory and some high-end chips. Once individual letters and strokes at the position of laser printing are found to be uneven, it can be regarded as remark.
3. Look at the pins. All tinned pins that are as bright as "new" must be loose and new. Most of the pins of genuine IC should be so-called "silver powder pins", which are dark in color but uniform in quality. There should be no oxidation marks or "flux" on the surface. In addition, the pins of DIP and other plug-ins should not have scratches. Even if there are scratches (only after packaging again), they should be neat In the same direction, the exposed metal shall be smooth and free from oxidation.
4. Look at the device production date and packaging factory label. The label number of the original product, including the label number on the bottom of the chip, should be consistent and the production time should be consistent with the device product, while the label number of the unmarked Sanxin bulk film is confused and the production time is different.

Original goods: those produced by the original factory, including imported original goods and domestic original goods.
Bulk new goods: the word "bulk new" is mainly used in the aspect of IC chips, which mainly means:
(1) This product is not produced by the original factory. It may be produced by other manufacturers, but it is a fake product with the original brand. The supplier calls it "loose new" or "original packaging"!
(2) Some unqualified materials produced by the original factory. The original factory will reduce the price and dispose of it through other channels. When the seller comes in, it is called San Xin!
(2) It is produced by the original factory, used, polished, tinned, and wiped the feet to cool. After a series of treatments, the appearance looks good, and it is also called "loose new", but it is actually renovated!
