Introduction to Shiquan County

Shiquan County is located in the south of Shaanxi, bordering the Qinling Mountains in the north, Bashan Mountain in the south, and the Han River runs through the territory from west to east. The terrain contour is like "two mountains sandwiched with one river". The county covers a total area of 1525 square kilometers, governs 15 townships, 219 administrative villages, and has a total population of 182000.
Shiquan County has a long history. It was called Changle County in Jin Dynasty. It was renamed Shiquan in the first year of the abolition of the Western Wei Dynasty (525 A.D.), because there are many springs in the stone gap in the south of the city. "The spring water is clean, and the runoff is endless," which has the rhyme of "the clear spring stone flows up".
Shiquan has a humid monsoon climate at the edge of the subtropical zone, with an average annual temperature of 14.6 degrees Celsius and an average annual sunshine of 1811 hours. It is not cold in winter and hot in summer. It has four distinct seasons and is suitable for the growth of various crops, cash crops and the survival and reproduction of various animals.
Shiquan is rich in resources. If you live in a mountain, you will find a treasure hidden in the mountain. If you are located in water, you will find a source of wealth. There are three major resources: biology, human resources and minerals. The natural and cultural landscape combines the northern and southern scenery, and combines Qin and Chu cultures. Tourism resources are unique. The development of sericulture, yellow ginger, flue-cured tobacco, tea and other industries has a certain scale, including 100000 mu of mulberry gardens, 2200 tons of fresh cocoons annually, which is one of the sericulture base counties in Shaanxi Province. The main stream of the Han River and its main tributaries are the main water resources, with a exploitable capacity of 434000 kilowatts. At present, there are 225000 kilowatts Shiquan Hydropower Station on the main stream of the Han River, and three small hydropower stations on the tributaries of the Han River, namely, Chopsticks, Hujiawan, and Elxiangjing. Xihe Hydropower Station, with an installed capacity of 180000 kilowatts and an investment of 1.4 billion yuan, has started construction. The mineral resources are mainly limestone, marble, quartz sand, vanadium titanium magnetite, lead zinc ore and gold mine. The industrial economy of the county has initially formed five pillar industries of silk, building materials, hydropower, biology and chemical industry. The leading industrial enterprises are Shiquan Silk Reeling Factory with an annual output of 210 tons of silk, Shiquan Cement Plant with an annual output of 180000 tons of cement and Chihe Huangjiang Saponin Plant with an annual output of 50 tons of Huangjiang Saponin. In order to accelerate development, our county has set up "Yangjiaba Industrial Park" and "Chihe Township Enterprise Park", of which the Chihe Township Enterprise Park has been listed as a provincial township enterprise demonstration community.
