About Alxa

（1） Overview of Alxa League Located in the westernmost part of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the Alxa League is connected with Wuhai, Ordos and Pakistan League in the east, Ningxia in the south, Gansu in the west and Mongolia in the north. The boundary line is 735 kilometers, with a total area of 272000 square kilometers. It governs three banners, and has a population of 198000 from 17 ethnic groups, including Mongolia, Han and Manchu, It is a typical frontier minority area. The Alashan League is located in the Alashan Platform of the Inner Mongolia Plateau, which belongs to the arid and semi-arid inland area of the northern temperate zone. The terrain is high in the east and low in the west, with an average altitude of 1000-1400 meters. The landform is dominated by desert, gobi and desert steppe, each accounting for one third.
