Recently, the General Office of the State Council issued the Notice on the Arrangement of Some Holidays in 2019. According to the notice, the "May Day" holiday in 2019 has become a "thin" day, causing hot debate.

In the past, the "May Day" holiday has never been taken for only one day, which is also an important reason for the attention paid to this holiday arrangement. At this year's NPC and CPPCC, some representatives proposed to extend the Spring Festival and resume the May Day holiday. The resumption of the May Day golden week is bound to have a positive impact on boosting domestic demand. However, as a public policy, its existence or abolition is not a simple arithmetic problem, but a major problem involving many aspects of economic and social operation, which should be more prudent.
