Graduation
St John's presents students for graduation at ceremonies on several days throughout the year, usually in the Sheldonian Theatre. Degrees must be conferred at a ceremony, either in person or in absentia, in order for you to be able to collect your degree certificate.

You will receive an invitation from the University to book online for a place on a ceremony. Look out for this email during Michaelmas Term in your final year.
You will be guaranteed a place on a ceremony at the first available opportunity following the completion of your degree. If you choose to decline this invitation, but would like to attend a future ceremony, please contact us to be added to a waiting list.

Old Members and MA degrees
The College follows the University's policy of giving priority to current students who wish to attend degree ceremonies and then to former students who were unable to graduate previously. Alumni who wish to graduate for the MA in person are welcome to contact us and will be offered places after current and recent former students have been accommodated. Alternatively, you may choose to take your MA in absentia, which can be arranged for the next available degree ceremony. If you wish to graduate or to obtain your Oxford MA, either in person or in absentia, please fill in thisformand email it todegrees@sjc.ox.ac.ukto be added to a waiting list.
In order to take your MA, you must pay a conferral fee (currently £100). You can pay the fee here:https://www.oxforduniversitystores.co.uk/product-catalogue/degree-conferrals/ma-fee-and-certificate
Please note that you are not eligible to take an MA if your undergraduate degree is an integrated Masters degree (MBiochem, MChem, MCompSci, MEng, MMath, MMathCompSci, MMathPhil, MPhys, MPhysPhil).
The Oxford MA is not an upgrade of your BA or an additional qualification. It therefore has no subject or class, and the nominals 'MA' should be represented in place of, not in addition to, the 'BA' in the holder's signature and on documents such as CVs.
